Hi, this is just me second post. I got my truck without running boards or rock rails. I like the clean look of just the rock rails, but a step might be a nice-to-have for passengers. I've kind of zoned in on the Mopar Side Steps (Mopar 82215608), but I'd sure love other suggestions.

Also, I've found what look like good prices on BAM. In some cases the prices seem almost too good to be true. Are BAM's products real Mopar products (I hate to ask it that way, but I'm going to play the newb card again... :)

If you want the best steps/rock sliders, go with rock slide Engineering. They are expensive, however there worth the price. I had them on my LJ. Now they are on my JT. I added the extra protection this time. Because of the long wheel base. This is the best mod I have done to my JT

I went with the NFab to replace the factory rock rails (needed steps for my short people)

You can pick up the standard mopar rock rails on craigslist for around $150-200 usually. I went with the Go rhino Dominator DSS sliders and they are great for my needs. I haven't used them offroad yet, but they mount to the same spots as the mopars, they are heavy and very solid (and a bit of a PITA to install because of it), but fit the body well and provide just enough of a step to help without looking like a running board. Also, you don't have to mess with removing the body mount bolts which I have ready too many horror stories about for my comfort.

Another vote for Rock Slide Engineering! I had them on my JKUR and were easily the best mod I did to it, and they're on the short list of must do mods for my new Mojave...

On a completely unrelated topic...anyone with a JKU looking for a set of slightly used, Gen2 RSE step-sliders...!

I needed a step, but didn't want to compromise the ground clearance....

I’m in Waldorf and I have some rubicon rock rails for cheap if you want them. I know you’re looking at steps, so it’s cool if you don’t. PM me if interested.

Picked up NancyLee, an "eco-green" stripped-down Sport, yesterday. I hope most mods will be varnished wood, possibly moving to a "woody" or even "stakeside" look.

But first, steps/running boards, to please The Boss. I am thinking continuous running boards, pretty low, of oak or mahogany. But 95% of the labor will be in fabricating the brackets. I figure a simple Z shape, 2" wide strap: 3-4" top and bottom legs with a single bolt hole in each, and 6" or so riser. Unfortunately, I am not a metalworking guy ;)

Before I re-invent the wheel, is anybody aware of a commercial bracket that would work? Or a cheap kit, where I could throw away the step/rail?
