I have this 10.5 gal tank by the cab. Looking for help with setup; hose, fittings, etc. I plan to make two hose routes, one gravity fed and one with a pump. I would like to terminate both routes at the rear by the fridge (see photo) with quick disconnects. Would appreciate any water system ideas you have, like another area to terminate the connection, hose routing, opinions on regular RV water hose vs PEX or other?

I'm sure there are threads about water systems, but I have had no luck with the search engine. Please reply if you know of one.

Thanks!!

Might be better putting a faucet there or valve and then quick disconnect like they have for garden hoses…..Jack

PS: The flip up side windows almost make fridge slides obsolete, mines above wheel well and love the spot.

You're wanting quick disconnect fittings. One side has a ball and spring, that is the pressure side or bell. It's counterpart has a nipple that is open, that is the spigot side.

You can get stout hoses that will handle the job. Not cheap.

Quick disconnect!! That's it. I'll have two disconnects on a panel. One for pumped shower and one for gravity feed off the tailgate. The slide is for the boxes. I wouldn't get a fridge slide. Mine is perfect height for side access. I never access fridge from the rear.

thx!

One thing to remember is the bane of PEXs existence is UV. I've built a lot of water systems in PEX, PVC, HDPE, Copper, etc. Copper is my favored material for sure but may be overkill for what you're wanting. I'd probably do PVC. It's cheap, easy to do as a DIY project, just measure, cut in one hand motion, prime and glue your fittings, dry time, and you're good. There are more PVC fittings made than you can dream of, you'd be able to do anything you'd be wanting to do. If you're wanting it to go to a manifold at the tailgate, you could build that into your system and mount it to the bedside with a pipe strap or something like that in the back, where you could have more quick disconnects for the actual fixtures you're wanting to plug in. It could be made all kinds of fancy, has me thinking.
