Did a forum search but couldn’t find anything about it. A few people have the 3 ton but has anyone used the newer 1.5 ton badland offroad jack?

Is the Gladiator just too heavy at 6200lbs stock for this to be a viable option?

If I went bottle jack instead, what would be the appropriate weight rating

I have the full size one and it works well, I haven't tried it's Mini-Me, but I'd be worried about lifting a fully loaded truck and having enough height to be useful.

If you go for it, let us know how it does.

As far as the weight, a 1.5 ton jack will do what you need. Having a lightweight jack will make it easier to maneuver around. Not sure what the Badland offroad jack weighs.

Yeah, let us know how it works out.

Edit 48lbs! Thats not too heavy.

To be honest….… seems a bit too light weight for our JT’s.
We’ve had a 3,000 lb HF jack for many years (after exchanging the first one because of failure). We only use it on our cars….. like the corvette we had and use it on the BMW. I’d never use that thing on the JT (and its too short - can only lift the pumpkins with it).

If that were me…I’d get something with a lot more capacity. Don‘t cheap out …. The last thing you want, is failure. In this case….OVERKILL is a good thing.
We have a 3 ton jack we use on the JT.

I use a 1.5t jack for my Duramax. Not when I'm in the shop with it, but when out at the hunt club or other trails. 1.5t is more than enough to reposition a wheel to put blocks under it. It will be at it's limit if you wanted to lift one side. But that's not a safe thing to do even with a 3 ton. A light weight jack capable of placing it where you need it is most important to me.

I brought my HF 3 ton Datona jacks with me one time. I didn't need it , but one of our members got hung up on a stump. His truck jack kept sinking in the mud. I got out the 3 ton Datona to jack up his truck. It was a pain to carry over to the crime scene( to heavy to drag). I now have the HF 1.5t aluminum jack in my truck for the huntclub. So easy to toss around where you need it.

50lbs is not terrible for the 1.5 offroad jack. That extension would be perfect for what I need. I may go look at one myself.

The general bulk of the 3 Ton Badlands is really my only complaint as well. I have taken it on trails, but it's not something I would keep on the truck or trailer. Which means it gets relegated to the shop and inevitably forgotten for weekend trips. This new one solves that issue. I just grabbed some steel plate and fabricated a couple mounts for it so we can move it between the truck bed molle panels and the trailer.

Lifting one wheel at a time should be fine.
