Just sold my 2020 sport s. Over 70k miles. No real issues. Driver sun visor mount failed. Replaced under warranty. Aux battery failed. Replaced under warranty. Otherwise regular maintenance

Just hit 101,500. 2020 JTR

Cylinder #3 misfire starting. And of course throwing the code and CEL.

I have a set of coils and plugs here, but I’m hesitant to dig in (intake/plenum removal to access coils, major PITA) and then find out the coil and plug replacement was in vain.

Sucks. Really love this truck but it’s running like shit.
You are due for plug replacement anyways at that mileage. 1, 3, & 5 is the right passenger side bank and is accessible for coils and plug without the need to take the intake off. You can swap and see if that fixes and will know where to go from there

Thanks. I had read somewhere that #3 was in the middle on the driver side under the intake.

I just passed 80k. No mechanical issues so far, just maintenance. Only issue has been paint bubbling, first on the hood, now on the hinges.
You've got paint to bubble on your hinges (doors?) ? I've had mine 6 months and I've lost nearly all of my front hinge paint to rocks.

Clear 3m tape on the leading side of the door hinge. Solves that issue. Or buy precut stuff for more money. I just used a 1 inch wide roll of clear 3m.

For 100K miles, those plugs don't look terrible. Definitely time to replace though.

Yeah I’ve seen worse too but they were nasty! I also replaced the coil packs.

#3 cylinder misfire is no more, CEL code cleared and she’s running just like a song.

I bought a 2020 with 77k miles on it. According to the carfax the cams, lifters, and rockers were replaced at 74k miles which was half the reason I bought it since I knew that was taken care of already.

My ESS doesn’t work, constantly says it’s charging so I replaced the Aux battery and that didn’t fix it. The fuse is there so not sure why it’s still saying it’s charging and eventually says it’s not working on the dash. Plan on replacing the main battery next as that looks original.

I had $5K maintenance, including all plugs, fluids, gasket and oil cooler leaks, diffs, and belts replaced in June.

My ESS was acting up, new batteries, I am convinced it was related to coils and the electrical system sensing they were bad.

Right or wrong, fixing #3 made it go away. ESS working fine. Weird system, these trucks would be better without ESS.
