Finally decided to cut the hood after a year of installing mopar cai.
Highly recommend mopar cai & hood cutout + Corsa Cat back exhaust Night & day difference. You can feel it sucking that air.
Mojave hood is bit tall, wider & thicker than Rubicon aluminum vs metal, had to improvise a little to make snug fit.
No dremel needed, i wonder if it would have been able to cut this thick metal anyway, Harbor freight electric cutter works great but it does not come with cutting wheel.

Which exhaust did you buy, tip or dump?

Nice work on the air intake

Is there something in the design that keeps water from getting in?
It lead to the air box barrier below the fiter, so the water flows and settle down at the bottom of the box and drains from the drain hole.

It would be rad if you found someone who could airbrush the missing letters onto the black plastic. There seems to be enough of it there where you could make out the V and E if done well.
interesting idea, never thought of that way.

Nice work. What did you have to do to make it fit?

How about some inside the hood pics ? Is it just a vent or does it connect to the intake somehow ? Is one or both sides ? Looks good !

Or just replace it with a slightly smaller decal ... probably last longer and guessing much cheaper.

There are trails that necessitate fording through puddles and creeks and many have unforeseen ruts and holes in them to where the nose takes a dive and pushes a wave over the hood before you come up the other side.

The placement of this Cai could have really bad consequences in that scenario.

Looks great tho!

you know that the front factory air intake point that is standard on all JT/JL is lower almost a foot lower and leads to same air box.
And its not a good idea to dive into place where hood can completely submerge even if you have snorkel.

had to add some weather stripping to make it air tight & fill the gap in hood.
At first i had it all around but later did only half to be able to use the inner lid when needed

I’d remove them completely. You can always

or just remove the lettering altogether for a clean look. Jeepers know it’s a Mojave from the hood.
