Thank You for this information! I appreciate it.It's warranty and this is the TSB. https://www.tsbsearch.com/Jeep/D-23-04
Mine is starting to show the very same paint bubbling on the edge of the hood too. I have to wait for my WK2 to come back from the body shop after a deer encounter before mine can go in.
I just read that service bulletin and it seems to be referencing the door hinges. It talks about a gasket and replacing them in pairs. maybe due to galvanic corrosion or something similar? I’m not sure it applies to my case. It's warranty and this is the TSB. https://www.tsbsearch.com/Jeep/D-23-04

It does. The hinges are a much larger problem and require a hardware change for most of the problems. If you look closer, there is reference to the hood and it's listed in the required parts to be replaced for some more severe issues.I just read that service bulletin and it seems to be referencing the door hinges. Thanks for the reply! How long did they have your Jeep? This is our only vehicle so it’s a pain to leave at the dealership.I have a 21 also and had it repaired by the dealer locally about 6 months ago and haven't seen any bubbles on top of under the hood edges since. They didn't repair the whole hood but just spot treated. They fixed my hood on multiple spots on top and underneath. The only thing they didn't do a good job was repairing the corrosion around the 10mm nuts under my hood latches. So I just sanded and repaired those myself last week. I didn't feel like leaving my truck with strangers again.
Thank You for your information. Hopefully I will have a better outcome.@John7595 Two dealers quoted me that they would have it sit in a queue at a shop for 6 months. Another dealer outsourced me to a body shop that had it for 3 weeks but when I called to find out the status the shop fixed it all within 24 hours. So what I'm saying is it all depends the shop they send it too, how backed up they are, and lastly how they plan to fix it. I think some shops repaint everything and in this case they spot repaired it by sanding, painting and blending. But, like I said in my other post, it still looks fine months later. I still have about 3 years left of the 5 years paint coverage I was told about when I called on jeeps standard warranty policy on the paint repair via corrosion.
Thanks for the infoHappened to my 2020 JTR inside of 10k miles. Both sides of the hood. It is not corrosion or rust. Aluminum panels must be treated with a primer before painting. If not, the paint will eventually bubble due to poor bond. The edges of the hood and hinges are the usual places this is seen bc the primer sometimes doesn't hit those areas as thoroughly.
I haven't had any issues since the fix in early 2021.
