Im looking for a horn upgrade as the horn on this thing doesnt fit the truck. Im not looking to install a train horn, but Id like a simple swap for something a little more robust. Has anyone else found one thats a bit better?

Thanks

I've often wondered why I haven't seen anyone post about putting in Hella Supertones, since they're hanging right there in plain view.

ive always wanted a train horn my self.
A train horn would be nice but, for maximum impact, consider a ship’s horn. Most use air (a LOT of air) but here’s one that’s electric. The end of the trumpet is 25” diameter and the whole assembly is 40” long. The single tone (C3 for the musically inclined) is generated with a 7-1/2 hp motor driving a piston ... and can be heard two miles away over open water. <grin>

I don't know if I've ever even heard them honestly. I just notice Wrx /STi people seem to love them since they sit in the grill and attract attention. They're not on my bucket list lol.

From the driver's seat I feel like that whenever I hit the horn I can barely hear it, but it also seems that others can clearly hear it. I think the factory horn is very directional. I recently used the panic button on the fob to find my Jeep in the parking lot, and it was surprisingly loud from the outside.

Be careful with train & ship horns. They're crazy loud and have an unbeatable cool factor but they have the potential to scare the bejeezus out of people and it quickly becomes not so funny, if not downright dangerous. See-also: road rage.

mother of god I want it! The sound clip was phenomenal.

Funny story...apparently im a five year old because i turned my sound all the way up and woke up my sleeping wife with it. After which i giggled like a child while she cursed a storm at me. Well worth it!

I had train horns on my old Colorado for 8 years. I miss them, but just not practical anymore. I sold them to my brother in law.

Well it ain't like flashing high beams mean anything anymore... especially if the other person is texting and driving in the left lane, or green light

I also feel the OE horns are pretty good. Stand in front of ur grill and lock ur doors via fob. Always scare the $#!+ outta me when I get home. Even from 10' away. But this could also be that it bounces off my metal garage door too...

I think it sounds anemic.

I want something louder, but not a train horn, thats a bit much. I may have to default to an air horn of some sort.
