Anyone seeing the same issue? Called ATT and all I got from them was there are lots and lots of uconnect issues and they will call me back. I called uconnect and all I got were bad instructions on how to reset the radio. Basically, as the subject says, I can connect devices to the hotspot but there isn't any internet access. This was working for several days. On the more techy side, when connected to the hotspot, i cannot ping or reach the gateway. I do not know if this is normal for this device, but if it is not it points to an issue with the WiFi device.

@JeepCares any ideas on where to go from here, neither ATT nor Uconnect are helpful.

That happened to me last week. I removed and re inserted fuse 97 (yellow 20 Amp) to reset the radio and it started working again.

Thank you @Rammer500, while poking around I figured out a way to reboot the radio. Press and hold both the radio power and tune buttons. I held them for a while and when I let go the radio shut off. I powered it back on and wireless was working. I noticed through the process that my connected phone chirped when it powered off and back on.
A little easier than pulling a fuse.
Guess its true what they say, reboot fixes everything.

Well that didn't last long. Stopped working again.
@JeepCares what is the best path forward. Seems like a bug in uconnect that needs a software fix, since reboots seems to solve the problem temporarily. Really dont want to reboot the uconnect every ime i get in the jeep and need to use the hotspot.

Ill second that question. All I used the U-connect for was to start and unlock with my phone. Lol

IF it does have wifi hotspot how do you access the password and such?

The service is provided by AT&T. They offer a free trial of like 30 days/1 gb.

Haha! Me too, but likely for different reasons. We have NO cell service of any kind here, but only AT&T lies about it, and pretends they do anyway. Turns out there are these crazy new things called "mountains" they've apparently never been made aware of. Seems it's hard for the signal to get through the literal miles of solid rock. Whodathunk? Not going to stop them from lying about it though! Gotta get that map colored in (with crayon apparently)! Between AT&T being sacks of crap, and the fact that it doesn't work anyway, kinda hard not to pass.

Same here - fuse #97 is the only workaround I've had. No rhyme or reason - it will work fine for days or weeks and then say "connected - no internet". I have the unlimited data plan and according to AT&T all is fine. You can find threads online for all Chrysler/Dodge vehicles that use the U-Connect system.

I never bothered with it as in Iowa, AT&T is among the worst providers for connectivity.
Believe it or not, in this state, USCC blows away AT&T.
There are times my uconnect apps don't show up or work, or I have blank icons for a few minutes until the thing connects - and that's in the middle of the metro area.
So I passed on their "free trial". (my wife would blow away 1gig in a week with her phone games)
