I assume you've already knelt down and praised the jeep gods for that absolutely best case location for the chip? That's really all that's necessary.

My insurance pays 100% on chip and crack repairs.

The location of that one may prohibit anything being done, but I'd still have a shop look at it and tell me that.

As a glass installer no reputable company will repair that. As far as replacement 99% possibility that it WILL NOT SPREAD based on my experience and location. I'd say 100 because I've never seen one that looks like that spread, but it's glass.... and not always predictable.

I've got a new oem glass in my shed, cost me nothing, and I wouldn't do anything to it, and cracks drive me crazy if that tells you anything.

I had a similar chip on the middle bottom edge of a windshield (but not a Jeep.) It sat in the sun for a day, and cracked right up the middle.

? can happen Kevin. However if I'm seeing what I think I'm seeing... the shape of the legs coming off, coupled with it being outside the bond area I wouldn't stress it. I mean worst case it gets worse then do something.

If me and I though I could do it without making a mess and not looking like ass, would mask and brush some clear epoxy resin on it.

I would be worried about water getting in there and then freezing, causing the piece to pop out. If it were me, I'd make sure it's clean & dry and then apply a low viscosity liquid CA adhesive, allowing it to 'wick' into the crack.

Where on a Jeep is that located? I looked at my Glad and don't see an area like that around my windows anywhere.
