Just noticed this today. How do I pop the pin back in? I tried but it didn’t budge.

I noticed that too, not sure. I bought my jeep used and didn’t notice it when I picked it up.

Ball peen hammer, cut it off, whatever.
Once it spreads the rivet, it is useless.

The two retainer clips(I have no idea if thats what they are called) in the photo do not match each other. The factory one below the one with a stiffy has a much lower profile and does not have a push type head on it.

I would guess the other side fender is also not the same and has all stock clips. For some reason the last owner replaced that clip with one that is not correct.

Just went out and looked at the wife ladies JL sport. All the clips look the same. They are all like the one you have with a stiffy. There are none like the flat solid one you have below. I would think that something is misaligned between the trim and the inner fender stoping stiffy from going back in.

Those clips don’t tighten when pushed, they release. It looks like that one was replaced, but the excess not cut off after. Here are some photos of one I removed.

They hit them with a rivet gun. I was missing a couple and watched them put them in. If you stop by dealer you can ask them to try it. If its broken grab one from parts and have them do it. They are a bit annoying.
