I’ve owned a few pre owned jeeps in my time and all of them had either scratches or cracks in the odometer glass and I’ve never really understood why? It just seems like such a small area for a rock with the doors off to hit.

Easy answer. These things cost so much that only the rich and beautiful can afford them. So, when they are wiping off the odometer glass, their 3 carat diamond rings scratch the surface.

Problem solved......

Wiping it with anything other than a clean microfiber with some type of plastic cleaner will often result in scratches. I use Novus 1 for day to day an if needed Novus 2, stuff works great.

Not just jeeps, but pretty much every car that uses whatever type of crystal plastic they use on ODO screens. It just scratches easily. +1 on microfiber.

Regardless of how 'soft' they feel between your fingers, paper products are made from tree fibers and are very abrasive. You can usually get away with using paper towels and cleaner on real glass, but they are destructive to anything plastic.
