2 hours/115 miles on my original Gorilla Glass.

Second Gorilla Glass was installed 3 months later after multiple issues even getting a warranty claim opened and then finally waiting on the part, but this one has lasted 9 months and 7,000 miles so far.

About 10 minutes on the freeway after leaving the dealer, go figure.

So I thought I’ve read that your lift can become an issue when recalibrating the adaptive cruise control after windshield replacement? My last replacement was back when mine was stock, should I be expecting issues?

Which one? I had it replaced due to a crack 4 weeks ago. 2 weeks after that I had a chip repaired. Yesterday a rock cracked the new one. The 2nd new one goes on on Monday. :)

I don't have the ACC so can't really provide any feedback on that one. I did go from Safelite to the dealer to have the inspection and emissions stickers put on. I was talking to the service manager while the technician was doing the stickers and he mentioned how much more expensive it is when they have to recalibrate ACC. I'm no engineer, and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn ... but I don't see how a lift would affect that. If anything, I would think recalibrating with the lift on would be a good thing?!?

Just over 2 years and still no crack. I also don't tailgate at all, not that it won't happen in the future, but I see how people drive right on each others asses and I think that has helped me not get a crack. I think everyone should drive an older vehicle regularly to get used to crappy brakes, helps keep you from tailgating ;)

I have ACC, and it was no big deal. They put it in calibration mode and drive around. Cost isn’t different for me. I have a $0 deductible for chip repair and $100 for windshield replacement. It includes calibration.

The mountains change things. I don’t tailgate either. There are rocks everywhere.

Until you made this post! 16k miles. Driving up to the bay area on the 5 in a rainstorm. Something hits the passenger-side window. Never saw it but it made a big bang. Maybe something kicked out by the two trucks in the right lane in front of me. Cracked the windshield at the bottom of the wiper and left a divot in the plastic near the sandals on the plastic. Driving back to SD yesterday through Salinas on the 101 and an agricultural vehicle ahead sheds a ton of debris and a car racing through it kicked up a rock that hit me about rear view level in the center. So I blame OP for the jinx.

I had my Gladiator for 2 months before it cracked.Got hit by a small rock on the base of the windshield while on I-40 and had foot long crack in about 20 minutes.

It's a Jeep Thing so it should be expected!

Yep. The angle is just asking for it. Worth it to drive something so cool and fun.

Story time!

Technically, no chips or cracks since new April 2021, YES I just knocked on wood! However, after a delay because of the manual transmission firmware "Fire Hazard" update bumped delivery up from 4 weeks to a full 4 months!! There was a crack because it was shipped to me via truck. Something happened on the way to . . .

2 Days before I was supposed to pick it up, dealer called, there is a crack in the windshield, a Friday of course. We cannot deliver because. WTF! I just looked at it, fresh off the truck, the day it arrived. Did not notice but was just too damn excited. So now another couple of days, reschedule day off work etc to pick it up. So technically not a chip or crack in my ownership, but technically not a factory installed windshield.
