Just bought a new leftover 2022 Gladiator Overland automatic Pentastar.
It does have the tow package, how much is the truck rated to pull? If I'm reading the chart correctly, the answer is 6,000lbs.
I'm not new to towing. I have three trailers including a 30-foot gooseneck I tow with my F-350 dually.
I've read about Gladiator frames bending, really poor towing behavior, etc. I am thinking my aluminum 2-place clamshell snowmobile trailer would be fine. I also have an 18-foot long 102" wide enclosed tandem axle trailer rated for 7,000lbs GVWR. The trailer empty is about 3700lbs. I'm wondering if the Gladiator might be OK to occasionally tow it and a 1500lb zero turn lawn mower, along with a trimmer and a blower, making the "all-in" weight around 5500lbs max.
I've laid under my new Jeep and the trailer hitch assembly doesn't look particularly rugged. I don't want to harm the Jeep. I would not tow this trailer at all without installing the mopar trailer brake controller or equivalent aftermarket. I've heard the mopar trailer brake is hard to install, but it looks the best.
