Just bought a new leftover 2022 Gladiator Overland automatic Pentastar.
It does have the tow package, how much is the truck rated to pull? If I'm reading the chart correctly, the answer is 6,000lbs.

I'm not new to towing. I have three trailers including a 30-foot gooseneck I tow with my F-350 dually.
I've read about Gladiator frames bending, really poor towing behavior, etc. I am thinking my aluminum 2-place clamshell snowmobile trailer would be fine. I also have an 18-foot long 102" wide enclosed tandem axle trailer rated for 7,000lbs GVWR. The trailer empty is about 3700lbs. I'm wondering if the Gladiator might be OK to occasionally tow it and a 1500lb zero turn lawn mower, along with a trimmer and a blower, making the "all-in" weight around 5500lbs max.
I've laid under my new Jeep and the trailer hitch assembly doesn't look particularly rugged. I don't want to harm the Jeep. I would not tow this trailer at all without installing the mopar trailer brake controller or equivalent aftermarket. I've heard the mopar trailer brake is hard to install, but it looks the best.

Door sticker should have the definitive answer on towing capacity. I installed the mopar brake controller, took about an hour and a half. The worst part was installing the box in the footwell and routing the wires. I also broke the ring on the power port I removed. Looks awesome and was plug and play as far as I can tell.

Thanks for that info. Door sticker tells trailer towing capacity? My understanding is that it tells you the Jeep's GVWR and maximum payload.

The Overland with factory tow package and gas engine is rated for 6000 pounds. That direct information is not on the door sticker, but the payload capacity is. The 600 pounds of allowed tongue weight comes out of the payload capability, which is about 1000 pounds on the Overland.

I went with the Curt Spectrum for trailer brake controller. It is mounted on the dash just below and to the right of the start button (only area of smooth plastic). I need the 12v outlet and wasn't going to give it up just for appearance for a brake controller.

No, the door sticker is payload, not towing.
Overland is 6,000 if auto and gas engine

If it's the factory tow package with 2" receiver it's the same receiver they all have and is plenty meaty for the RATED tow capacity.

I've towed 5,000 pounds easily with mine -

Plus the added weight of any winch, increased weight of suspension add-Ins, fat drivers?, dogs, tools, recovery gear, water, food, communication equipment, added lights, refrigerators, tongue weight etc.

My GVRW is 6,459#
Max payload is <946#>
Curb weight off the transport = 5,513#

So, here's what I've read about all the models of Gladiators equipped with the tow package (please correct if wrong ;) ), this is what has been authorized by the manufacturer as towing weight rating not including whatever is being carried in the vehicle or any mods done that add weight to the tow vehicle or change in tire geometry without re-gearing:

Sport, Sport S, Overland (other varieties like High Altitude, Texas Edition, etc. included) manual is 4,000 lbs. Automatic is 6,000 lbs.

Rubicon, Mojave manual is still 4,000 lbs. Automatic is 6,500(?) 7,000 lbs (because of 4.1 gearing).

Sport S MaxTow (if I recall, not available with manual) is 7,600 lbs. This is due to the 4.1 gearing, axles ~1/2" wider than the rest, and more heavy duty rear suspension components (coils, springs, shocks, etc.).

Rubicon, max tow and Mojave axles are 1.5" wider in total, .75" per side.
I wouldn't say the springs are any more "heavy duty" - just different rates. The max tow rears are supposedly dual-rate springs. Possibly, but I never saw that effect when under my JT Overland.
