Here's an interesting video I came across. Sorry if it has been posted before.

Nope, can't blame just Stellantis.

Chrysler/FCA/Stellantis have all whittled away at the Jeep brand.

It's been the red-headed step child since AMC sold it off.

"More Perfect Union" Is a labor advocacy organization and their videos are not usually independent analysis but with a slant towards their advocacy mission. They do have a good production style but have to temper who they are and the angle they are pushing forward.

Stellantis is just the latest in a 75 year run of auto makers trying to make Jeep work. Jeep has never been able to stand on it's own.

Ok, I didn't know that. Thanks for the update.
As others have commented, the blame for Jeep's decline can't be put on one CEO.
The decline has been in progress for a long time.

Incorrect.. Lee Iacocca attempted to buy Jeep from AMC BEFORE He bought the entire company in 1986.

What is incorrect? Are you saying Lacocca bought Jeep with his own money and operated Jeep as a standalone company?

This same statement of "How ___ destroyed Jeep" can be said about every owner of the brand, at least all in recent memory. I do not recall a time when the Jeep brand wasn't being thrashed in the media. For all my life it seems Jeep has been about to go under. Yet here it still is.

Inherent bias notwithstanding, they have a history of selecting facts that support the narrative they're portraying. Not saying there isn't *some* truth in their reporting but it needs a few grains of salt.

BTT: STLA treated Jeep as a profit center while cranking out some turkeys, making boneheaded decisions and generally not understanding the appeal of the brand and what to do with it. That is well-established.

To make the jump into the high end with Wagoneer they needed to get QC and dealerships under control.

The 6-figure+ buyer expects quiet reliability and to be coddled. If you've ever owned a luxury car and experienced the generally better, more professional dealer and service experience it makes sense. MB was incredible even if my C-class was a turd. Their service writers were all professionally dressed, acted professionally and were a cut above. Fact is, the guy with gauged ears and visible tattoos telling you that the repair is going to cost $3500 does not appeal to the blue bloods the Wagoneer is supposed to attract. Appearances matter. And even more importantly: not having service loaner cars for those buyers is a massive problem. MB gave me one even when my C class was 50K out of warranty. (yes, it was a ploy to get me to upgrade that never worked but it does with some people- another missed sale opportunity.)

I also still don't understand why they felt the need (and wasted money) launching Wagoneer as a sub-brand.

Even my VW dealer was like this. Everyone was professional, they always gave me a loaner. Sometimes the loaner was an Audi hoping I would make the jump. Free swag on my birthday.

Dealing with the Jeep dealers has been an experience to say the least 🤣

VW was always great about it. Same with Subaru. Hell, Subie would rent us a car from Enterprise for an oil change appointment if they didn't have loaners available. Toyota, too.

TBF, Ford is no better. I have to put the Bronco Sport in the shop tomorrow for the transmission for a third time. 3-5 days diagnostic before they can tell me what is wrong (Preview: "We can't find any issues"). I asked for a loaner since they'd have it so long.

I was told they can't give me one until -- get this -- they know what the issue is and Ford Corporate approves the loaner because of the diagnosis.

They suggested I contact Ford corporate, which I did who may be able to intercede with the dealer and get them to give me one.. but I won't know until tomorrow. Who knows if that will work but the point is I shouldn't have to go that far.

This is the fundamental issue with dealer experiences and for some stupid reason we just accept that. Its BS.

NO. AMC refused the offer so Lee bought the entire company.

Remember one thing, we finally got a dam Jeep Truck out of them. Then we got a diesel Jeep Truck. Hell then we got a 392 Wrangler. All the rest of this shxt is just fun hair splitting.
