How to stop rear seat beep when cargo on seat not a person

So have got the Gladiator Rubicon 2022, love the vechile, but am anoyed with the continual beeping when driving with cargo sitting on the rear seat, dont want to be pluging in the damn seatbelt every time I want to go shoping , or cary anything else on rear seat

Haven’t noticed this on mine . But then I did this hack to turn off the chime without the need for a add on device:


Plug in seat belt

Turn ignition to run

Unplug and plug in seat belt 4 times - leaving seat belt plugged in

Turn ignition off

Chime should be off but will still display icon warning on dash.

Does this cansel for all seatbelts, as I have never heard a chime for not having front seat belt on, I have a small property and drive around without my seatbelt on, only chimes when somthing is placed on rear seats, ie shopping , suit case, child seat, and I try to drive off. It also shows a small red 3 seat simble on the centre dash

Is this an Australian thing to have chimes for the rear seats? I've had people and cargo on the rear bench with the seat belt unbuckled and never got a chime.

The fronts on the other hand chime immediately

Hi, sory maby I should have mentiond I am in Australia, re the name Rubicon down under. Seems they have set the vehicles up difrent, I dont get chime on front seats, only on the rear, so damn anoying, havn't got my tray canopy yet, got the Gladiator in August, orderd with the canopy, still not here form US, so every day putting somthing on rear seats, will try the seatbelt trick tomorrow, otherwise not sure what else to do, the dealer wont help, doesent know what to do.
My other vehicles all have a cansel button to turn off the chime after the vehicle is running. Thanks

I can't say for sure. I disabled the chime as soon as I got home from the dealer. Not even sure if mine (USA) has it for the rear seat. I know my work truck does (2022 Ford F250) and that it could be shut off in the dash menus.

But this is free and easy to try. If it doesn't work, you can opt for Jscan route someone else mentioned. You'll surely find other uses for that too.

You can flip the rear seat backs down. I do this often just to keep dirty stuff off the leather seats.

Mine dings when over a certain speed for the driver or passenger FRONT, but nothing for the rear. I've had people in the back seat of my JT and we took off before they figured out the seat belts back there - no ding.

Tried that. But anything placed on the back of the folded seat transfers to the seat base, and well ding ding ding
