Hey everyone,

I just put my ordered in for my first Jeep and need help deciding on the offsets.

I want to go with Fuel Rebel wheels 17x9 with a -12mm offset and 37 12.5 Kenda Klever Tires. Here is the thing, the wheels come in a -12 and a +1mm offset. I am not looking for crazy poke but I also dont want any rubbing. Which offset should I go with.

I don't mind an inch or so of poke. But I can't seem to understand how much the -12mm will poke out. Ive seen photos that claim to have the -12mm but the poke is like 2in. Ugh please help.

From the stock position (+44.*mm) to +1mm will move just the wheel 1.77 inches outward.
-12mm will move just the wheel 2.20 inches outward.

Width of tire will also make the tire stick out farther.

I believe most people trying to avoid poke have been running around +18mm.

Can’t tell from the images of the calculator but there is a big difference in the amount a tire will stick out on a 17x7.5 with a -12 vs a 17x9 with a -12.
AEV wheels are specifically designed for the JL and JT with 35” and 37” tires they are 17x8.5 and +25, their site has a lot of pictures showing how they fit.

AEV runs +25 to keep the wheels/tires within the fenders. I had +11 on my first set then when AEV saltas came out I went with those on a +25. I also decided on Toyos 35x11.5

Here’s a few pictures that might help you out. I have the exact Fuel Rebel 17x9 wheels with -12mm offset and 33x12.50x17 Kendas on my sport s max tow. They poke out bout 1.5 inches or so.

I’ve got a couple on my door hinges. My side steps stop or catch most the rocks. I’ve had different AT tires in my past and find they are definitely the worst at grabbing and throwing rocks so these RT Kendas are no different. They like to grab rocks.
I will add these have been a great tire so far. Not too loud. Soft compound so good traction on dry and wet and great in the ice/snow. I’ve got 15,000 miles on them so far.

I am trying to decide if I should wait the the Kenda(8week backorder) or buy the patagonia mt which are in stock. Have any thoughts on the pantegonias?

I’ve never ran those tires. Personally I’m not a fan of their design and have read many mixed reviews on them but if you read enough you’ll find that with any tire. Guess depends on your intended use. I chose the Kenda RTs because I like to try new items. I know my driving will be throughout the year will be 75% on road 25% off road in the JT but I like the aggressive look without going full MT my first go around. Once these Kendas wear out , even if I love them, I’ll try something else. Possibly the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss ATs or Toyos.
