Back on topic: if you block the EGR be sure to remove the butterfly from the throttle as well (it's two torx screws) or it'll choke itself out at random expecting to draw intake pressure through the EGR.

I'm honestly curious how this goes. What I'm currently running still uses the EGR/throttle (if I hook them back up) just has the MIL flags disabled so I can't test it myself.

It was a horrible decision. Striking down the chevron standard will allow federal judges to make decisions on all areas without any expertise. But I guess you don't believe in experts either. Judges will be making decisions on on every regulatory agency instead of people who actually are professionals in that field.
I definitely think you missed the mark. This is a matter of government agencies imposing fines and creating laws without due process.
If the professionals in the field have the findings to substantiate issues then it should be an easy sell- push to the people and process to formulate into law.
The judge ruling simply called out that agencies are not within bounds to create laws and fines as they see fit….
🍺👍🏼 this should not detract, but in fact amplify and promote those professionals within these fields that will be scrutinized to allow many more Americans to view their work and either agree based on their substantiated evidence/factual findings. Or throw it out the window.

The stock tune will trigger a code if the swirl valves get bad enough. Aftermarket tunes can disable the swirl valves and therefore won't trigger a code. Based on forum feedback, most people with the 2014 - 2019 stock engine get anywhere from 110,000 - 300,000 miles out of the factory intake before it throws a code. How the truck is driven can significantly impact the longevity of the swirl valves. Obviously, the folks who live on the highway have much less issues with their emissions systems. The guy with 433,323 miles on his bone stock EcoDiesel still has the factory DPF.
For fun and to add to your post this is a 2016 gen 2 with 85k miles factory everything…. (Before cleaning and after cleaning, and swirl valve removal.)

I think we have different perspective on this. This is not about the people's choice. It's about corporate interests and the judges who will make decisions in areas that they have no expertise in. It will be corporations who willl bring up the suites not people. And it will be judges like Cannon, Thomas and Alito who make the decisions. I have little confidence in these bought and paid for people to do the right thing.

It's about unelected bureaucrats writing laws that congress never gave them the power to do. I can go deeper into this. But I don't want to get "banned".

Correct, like the EPA redefining terms so every ditch on every farm becomes a "navigable waterway", even if it is dry 99.999% of the time and only an inch deep if it rains hard enough. It is total government overreach and I am glad there is now a way to stop it.

I don't care who brings the lawsuits, large corporations or individuals, I just want to see it happen and see these crazy agencies put back in their place. The small guys are going to need the big guys to bring most of these suits. The government will be using taxpayer money to fight their side. You have to fund your side yourself and it won't be cheap.

If someone is worried about judges making decisions, they should talk to their congresspersons about writing laws that are more clear and do not require interpretation in a court of law.

Under Chevron, when there was an ambiguous situation regarding a rule/reg that a department/agency had made, the courts were required to defer to the interpretation of the department/agency, regardless of whether that interpretation was consistent or had changed seemingly by the whims of the moment. Overturning Chevron changes things back to where both sides of the argument must be heard and weighed -- it doesn't remove the opinion of the experts in the field, it allows differing opinions to be considered. Overturning Chevron also helps dissuade the departments/agencies from potentially abusing the rule insomuch as where leaving room for ambiguity when crafting rules/regs allows them freedom to change interpretations as they see fit, knowing full well that the courts were required to side with them.
