I just purchased a 2023 gladiator sport S and I want to add items on it but have no clue on how to start.

As others have mentioned, what is your goal for you JT?

Do you want it for SHOW or for GO?

Either way ya go - there is no hard feelings or judgement. Unless you get angry eyes, then we will judge.

I am not a rock crawler. I live in WI - we have no mountains. But I ended up going from a 1.5 Teraflex level kit to a Teraflex 2.5 coil spacer lift.

I wanted my lift for more "show" - and eventually will likely upgrade my 33" tires to a lighterweight 35'".

Also - I absolutely HATE when someone replies to a question with "Yo, this question has been asked sooooo many times before - USE the SEARCH FUNCTION!"

Honestly, who cares? Answer it for the 535th time or don't answer it at all. This is a forum, a Jeep community. It's welcoming as a new member looking for help to get direct answers of substance verses an off putting response to a bunch of links. Sure, this answer has question has been asked and answered before. But we are also here together to engage and to grow the community - not to necessarily make it "easy and quick" and on to the next one...

I'm reading thru all the responses and I'm going to say....

JUST DRIVE IT and ENJOY IT!

There's no need to do anything....... Just drive it around, enjoy the Jeep Waves.... and ducks (if you're into that sort of thing). Don't cave into the pressure of lifts, bigger tires, wheels, yadda yadda yadda. You can haul & tow shit, you can go offroad, you can go topless & doorless ...without having to spend any additional money!!

You'll soon learn what you want.....need.... or how you want to personalize it.

I have Gladiator Rubicon takeoffs (Fox shocks, coils, control arms, track bars, etc.) that I’ve been thinking about offering up for sale, just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Let me know if you are interested.

I drove my sport s for a year before doing anything. Researched, read the forum and everything I could find. I wanted bigger tires and no lift. Just piled the trigger and tried it with 315/70r17. No rub, no issues, but I and in a daily driver. When I start off-roading in it I will need a lift. Until then, just a good looking truck that I can take the top and doors off. Some light trailer idk g and mud. Decide what you want then go for it. A lot of opinions and an ideas on here. Good knowledge people. Just enjoy your truck your way.

You don’t need a lift for offroading…… and especially if you’re just ‘new’ to it.
Your stock jeep is so much more capable than you think and definitely more capable than the skill of the driver behind the wheel.

A skilled driver (in a stock rig) who’s able to read the terrain and pick the right line….(and/or a good spotter) can go just as far (or farther) than those that are lifted. 😉

I just purchased a 2023 gladiator sport s and I want to put 35's on it but I don't know what I need to do to the jeep before I get the wheels and tires! Help me please?
I have a 23 HA and was in same boat last year. I added the teraflex 1.5" front and daystar .75" rear leveling spacers to help clear 35's. I wanted a small change to clear 35's for now that was inexpensive. This fit the bill.

I also added (after intial install) the Steersmarts beefy adjustable front track bar and Mopars extended lower control arms for their 2" lift kit and both axles are centered and I clear 35's with zero rubbing. Link to my build thread where I added the leveling kits. If U read on from there, the track bar and mopar LCAs follow in next few posts.

One question I have is on the front sway bar... it seems to me that after installing the 1.5" leveling kit the sway bar sits a little lower than it did or "should" due to the increased ride height and the tiny OEM end links. Should those also be replaced to get the sway bar back up to just north of level and would that help smooth out the ride? Although I clear 35's just fine and it tracks well, bumps are still slightly more abrupt than I would like and not sure if thats due to the sway bar angle or just the way the Bilsteins ride?

100% Agree. Wheeled my JTR for 3 yrs stock. I’d recommend some armor before lift and tires. Wish I would have protected my lower control arm frame brackets. Banged them up real good in Moab.

If you aren’t going to do any serious wheeling like rock crawling, IMHO, you do not need the belly armor. I have this on my JK, but I rock crawl a lot and these are needed on extreme trails like the Rubicon to protect the engine and transmission going over big rocks. I never used the gas tank skid on the JK and the stock skid has held up great. Since my JT will see rock crawling (just not as extreme as the JK), I will install belly skids…might use the gas tank skid on the JT because of the break over angle…undecided…

I always recommend that before buying the aftermarket parts all the cool rigs have, be realistic about how you will use your rig…your bank account will thank you…

I have a 20 Sport S. It came from the dealer with Rubicon wheels and Wildpeak tires. granted I live in Fl and primary drive in sand but it does every thing I have ask it to. Drive it and enjoy it, you can always add parts later.

Have you wheeled with the stock skids? I've scraped the gas tank skid and the transmission has a skid plate already underneath.

No offense to the OP. But we gotta have some fun.... And welcome to this forum. Help is on the way.

What a bag of worms in a deep Jeep fan wormhole. I will bite because it's a lazy chill Saturday afternoon and then some guy jumps up and says "Help me with my jeep. I am new to Jeep".

The hardcore jeep guys chuckle and in their mind maybe say: "This one has a lot to learn". Like the guy that shows up to a family group swim party wearing Speedos and thinks that he is 'in'. His junk all out there for everyone to see and he isn't even racing yet.

That being said for chuckles, the folks on here will get you set up and steer you right. Just have lots of money to spend and / or helpful Jeep friends. There is nothing wrong with rolling it stock for awhile. Save your money and learn.

Some of which others have said:

>Drive it offroad on mild trails. Then see what you need.

>If it is just for show on the street, lift it has high as you like and install tires that will fit with your lift. Regear isn't necessary if it's just for show.

>If you wanted serious ability and the cheapest way to do it, You probably should have bought a Rubicon or Mojave from the start. 35s fit right off of the lot.

But we can fix that for you with suggestions on how to spend your money.

Welcome. Seriously.

Be well. Jeep on.
