So these have been out for a few years but I couldn't find any recent threads on these wheels.

Iike the idea of these weighing less, costing slightly less and being DOT approved although wasn't that concerned to begin with.

The video Northridge 4x4 did a few years ago looked promising, he was running 3 lbs in a 37 for several hours on rough terrain with no issue. The product testing report sounded good as well.

From what I could find, a couple members were buying these wheels when they got new tires. How are they performing??

I'm not a rock crawler by any means. And rarely air down. But when I do it's piece of mind for me. I don't usually drop to lower than 20 PSI because I'm only running Rubicon take off tires. Love the look and not a single problem with the bolts going through the rim as far as leaking.

I am a rockcrawler and I've had them since 2022. They have lots of rock rash but have performed as expected, aired down to 7psi in the sand dunes and 4psi in the snow, never once burped any air or had any problems with the O-rings leaking. I really do think that these wheels are the best thing since sliced bread.

When I can afford to buy rims, these are what I want. Plus America’s Tire sells them and will warranty, rotate, balance, and whatever else.
I’m glad to read that all y’alls experiences have been positive! Especially rubicon4wheeler, who does serious crawling which is what I want to get to do. I’ve done some, the “easy” part of the Rubicon trail and a few others in my area.
Thank you for posting this denverd1!!

I can confirm that America's Tire had no problem installing mine, which I'd sourced from Poly Performance. They were a little concerned about the "curb damage" the last time I brought the Jeep in for tire service. :CWL:

Here are 2 of my wheels, showing how well the thick bead area shrugs off significant rock rash with nothing but scratches.

And by the way, these Yokohama Geolandar M/T G003 tires have been some of the most rock rash resistant tires I've ever run, as seen in these photos. The sidewalls look unused, and the tread only shows moderate evidence of playing in the rocks. These are the tires that have been mounted through all of the rock rash the wheels have sustained.

Thanks for sharing the photos and your experience with America’s Tire! 🤩
For tires I went with a US owned/made company, I want to support our own, ya know whatI mean? I haven’t taken them off road yet, just finally got Machete Mama back from the dealership.
They’ve had it since a week or 2 before thanksgiving. Partially my fault for it being gone so long, but I had to take it back because on my way home the first time I picked it up the check engine light was flashing and beeping at me again. That’s why I took it in to begin with. They replaced the engine.
Turns out it was a faulty rocker arm 😳 at least I didn’t have to pay for that fix!! 😂

I see you're in NorCal. The specific America's Tire I use is the store in Concord. They're very experienced with these Icon wheels because several of my friends also have them on their Jeeps and Raptors, and all of them use this store.

As for tires, I felt morally justified in buying Yokohama tires since I happened to see that some of my Jeep's OEM coolant hoses were manufactured by Yokohama. :like: My next set of tires is likely to be Mickey Thompson's Baja Boss A/T, which is an American-made tire.

Wow! We live not so far away from each other. I’m a little farther east in Co Co County. I usually go to the Brentwood Am’sTire. And for dealership service, I was recommended to go to Walnut Creek Jeep, talk to Faisal. So far he’s been great and they’ve been good.
do you belong to any local clubs? I am a member of one, snd have been a guest of another that meets in Concord.

I'm a member of Cal4Wheel and Contra Costa Jeepers. Feel free to hit me up with a private message so we don't clog up the public forum.

Just a fyi I've had them down to under 10lbs on 38" Trail Grapplers without issue. My JT weighs about 7500lbs.

Not only that, but they sell these wheels. They installed mine over 3 years ago and it has been flawless - no leaks, no imbalance issues. I wound up picking up a big lag bolt through one of the tires, and they were able to remove it, patch/plug the tire, remount the tire, and it's been perfect ever since.

That's good to hear. I bent one of my method wheels hitting a sink hole and with the price being so close for a new wheel, I am thinking of trying the Icons.
