Well after tons of searching there is no definitive answer if they will fit or not. So today I pulled the trigger and ordered a set of 315's for my willys. I am going to leave it COMPLETEY STOCK.....stock height and STOCK wheels. no one (from my searching) has tried this. I have seen it done on sport max-tow's but never on a willys. Belle TIre said 7-10 days on the tires. I'll keep everyone updated and of course post pictures as soon as they are installed.

I went with the exact same firestone destination MTs as I love the ride of them. I know the 315s are a much higher load range but they performed great and I didn't want to take a gamble on the performance of the unknown without a return or exchange policy.

I've seen several people run these on the stock suspension. Here's one next to my Mojave. Personally I think it looks like too much tire for the size. Have you considered a small lift? The Mopar lift, or any of the smaller spacer lifts, would help quite a bit.

Those are aftermarket rims and that doesn't appear to be a Willys.

@rickettsj I am anxiously awaiting your post 👍

Your going to hit the lower control as at full lock. Stock Willy's doesn't have the wider axles and without those at full lock your going rub the lower control arms on Willy's, Overland and Sports without Max Tow.

yeah that's a snazzberry max tow.
Ah my bad. How can y'all spot a Max Tow model?

Anyway I'd think a non Max Tow model would have the same issue. Too much tire.

No issues but mines a Max tow. The Same wheels on my buddies Overland resulted in him rubbing the lower control arms at full lock.

Max Tow has wider axles so you get more clearance for turning at full lock

I'm an old school guy, back in the day it was always the goal to "fill" a wheel well as much as possible with rubber.....That's the look I've been accustom too....so thats the look I aim for. Also i might do the 1.5" front leveling kit just to eliminate the rake......I used to raise torsion bars on chevy pickups on day 1 so seeing the front end dive isn't the most attractive to me. and worst case scenario if the tires rub on the arms, i'll add spacers...i just don't want the "tractor pulling truck" look....tires are supposed to be in the wheel wells IMO

Willys is no different then Sport except your black appearance package. My buddy has a Willy's and put 35s on but needed wheel spacers. He did have a lift though which made it even more needed for the spacers.

update with pics...they fit, but do rub only on the front axle control arms. The funny thing is they don't rub every time.....its an intermittent rubbing....but here are the long awaited pics.

now for the bad stuff:
-ride isn't as soft due to the higher load range tires went from C to E
-gas mileage is down 3-4 mpg
-trans never wants to go into 8th

pics don't do it justice.....this is how the thing should have came from the factory.....

I haven't flexed the suspension yet, but i'm a little in fear that it may send a front fender into the stratosphere if I wheel it hard.....but for daily driving i'm not worried one bit.
