Hey Gang,
Attempting to remove the inner fender liner (and those 1/2” round flat black clips)
Along with …trying to remove the side vent (to install Iights).
This is a 2024 Mojave…so we don’t like to be ‘rammy’ or tear shit apart. We don’t want any damage to the jeep in the process.
Those clips are proving to be a pain in my ass!!
Inner Fender: We already have those plastic orange prying tools - and attempted to use them…. These clips (on 2024) are cheap and thin. The head of the clip ‘bends’ using those orange tools. I ended up breaking off the top part of one of them (head) from the post part.
Shit, do I really need to buy a special tool? See photo - is that what I need? I might as well buy the clips too since I broke one - and I’ll probably break more.
Even with a special tool, I’ll probably still break these things. Has anyone bought these clips? Searching Amazon…. There‘s different sizes.
The Fender Vent: We were able to pry most of it off but there’s two more clips nearest where the fender is…. again, we’re afraid to just muscle it and cause damage. Thoughts?
Looks like I gotta put the 10mm bolts back in …and get the jeep put back together (So its drivable). Order some parts…and try again next weekend.
Thanks for any tips!
Did I mention..I hate clips???!!
