So I called Geico (my current provider for the last 14 years, listed in their Preferred status with no accidents/tickets on record during this period). My current premium on a 2014 SRT is $102/month and I carry a $1000 deductible since I’m not accident-prone.

According to Geico, same coverage on the new Rubicon is $158/month! Seems crazy high? Obviously going shopping, curious who you’re using and what you’re paying?
I've used USAA for 51 yrs and I'll let ya know next week!

Mine dropped 100.00 a year from a 4runner
According to my insurance group the Gladiator has no experience with theft so the rates are low right now.
If there are many stolen then the rates will go up to reflect that.
The agent said that Ford f-250 and f-350 are paying the highest due to theft.
So perhaps a 4 runner has some rate class for theft.

I had pretty much the same experience with Geico, and the same reaction to the quote. It was nearly double per 6 months what im paying for my 2020 4Runner.

I just called Progressive - not sure if this is real?

For the same policy as what I have with Geico but a $500 deductible (instead of $1k) I was quoted:
  • $21.27 first month
  • $54.16/month for 5 months
I had her run it on a similar VIN I grabbed since I don’t have mine yet but that seems crazy low!

What did you end up paying? I am insured with progressive now I had my agent run a vin off one on a lot when I was thinking about a glad and it was $360 or so for 6 months. I think it will be around there for my truck when I add it I ran its vin and I think my premium was up $350-$400 or so.

I'm paying... $191.25 / 6 mos with Statefarm. It's full coverage, with low deductible and bumper up coverage.

I’ve had usaa for 31 years and have been shopping insurance. Gieco so far is $600 a year cheaper for exact same coverages, would never have thought that but guess it’s my fault for not shopping around over the years..

I would suggest every couple years you call and have them rewrite your policy. I have progressive, and its been going up for years, finally had enough and called them. After speaking to two different people the second person rewrote the policy and it was $900 less for the year for our 3 vehicles all together. I think their systems are set up to screw you over. I was told "we hadn't ran your driving record since you opened the policy. That was 14 years ago, I call BS, because I'm sure if I had got tickets they would have raised the rates. Pay them for the ability to drive, then if you have an issue you pay them again to get your vehicle fixed, then since you used the policy you paid for they raise the rates so you pay more. Scam all the way around. If the damage is small you end up paying it out of pocket anyway so they don't screw you more. Then if you never use it you find out years later you've been overpaying them anyway.
