I added these small flat LED lights on my overhead molle panel. Spliced them to dome light harness. Alot of extra light now where needed.

Is that the JCR off road panel? If so how bad is actually drilling the front screws?

I guess I was thinking old school as I made a lighting harness that illuminated the underside of the Jeep (JKU) when the interior lights were turned on by hitting the unlock on the key.
But my Gladiator won’t be turning on interior lights until I touch the door handle and open the door.
So I guess my thoughts of having the underside light up as I approach the truck are moot now that I think about it.

What wire did you tap to get power on unlock from the key?

I found one in the A pillar that energizes when remote unlock but it also energizes when touching the unlock button on the handle even without the key in my hand.

That was on a WRANGLER. I never got to figure it out and install on my Gladiator. Cancer took my strength.
It was one of the wires in the backseat passenger floor board. I don’t remember now I’m sorry to say. It supplies power to the interior lights. So when the interior lights are illuminated, the approach lights are illuminated.

Thank you very much Newlife.
I guess I should explain a little. I want to connect to the wire that turns on the interior lights when you open the door. I want to install approach lights that come on with the interior lights.
Is the Yellow with red/purple the wire I should use? Or is that strictly on when the ignition is on?
I saw on another thread the Ambient Lighting Control has a White/Green wire.
I don’t know how knowledgeable you are so I hope this isn’t too much.

I had the same question. Did an install today.
Yes, yellow with purple will come on and off with the interior lights when opening it closing the door. I'm sure you already figured this out by now, but thought I'd answer for the next guy.
