Hey all! So much great info here - gotta love the days of forums! I have a '06' TJ G.E. which has been the best most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Also have a '97 OBS 7.3L that is very well built but due to an aging body starting to be too much for me to climb into and repair. So, about to pull the trigger on a new Gladiator, and sell the OBS.
Went to drive a Gladiator today to confirm my wanting to place an order. It was good! Just like my TJ but more refined and longer. And I LOVE the fact that a short guy like me can reach over the bedrail and touch the bottom of the bed!! The smaller feel of the Jeep is more desired over a large full size the older I get. Although it had more road noise than I was hoping for. But that can be fixed. So, had a few questions I hope to get answered that nobody at the dealer could answer.
I am considering the Altitude (NOT High Altitude, just the basic Altitude) because it seems to offer the most flexible options along with the MAX tow package and 4.10 gearing, and still keeps cloth seats. Not that heavy towing is a necessity, but it has a higher sticker rating (6,250 GVW as compared to standard 5,800).
I haven't considered the Rubicon mostly because I dont intend to do crazy off road anymore and probably will get Icon suspension and lockers later on if desired.
Lookin forward to hearing from ya'll and seeing other builds and out there.

- Can someone with a Altitude and MAX tow package tell me what their sticker shows? The Max Tow option says GVW of 6,250.
- Jeep specs say max towing is 4,000, but they advertise up to 7,650. Anyone know what options allow for a 7,000 towing capacity?
- Anyone know what the Altitude with Max Tow option specifically is rated to tow?
- The Altitude (with max tow package) says Heavy Duty WIDE D44 axles. I am assuming these are the same that would be on the Rubicon? Standard track width is 62.9. Rubicon is 64.4. I am thinking that the Altitude with max tow would be at the same track width as Rubicon?
- Just confirming that none of the Gladiators offer heated side view mirrors...
- Any experiences with the Active Safety option?
- Any experiences with the Adaptive Cruise Control option?
- Also, are all the Gladiator models 'trail rated'? In terms of sealed components for water/mud, or does the Rubicon have additional protections that the other models would not?
