Has anyone put @Invictus Off Road Molle headliner over top of @Hothead Headliners? I have the Hothead headliners installed, and love them, but the storage features of the Invictus headliner is very interesting. Wondering if I could velcro the Invictus headliners over top of the Hothead headliners.

Thoughts?

The hothead is fabric. You bring up a good point. I would probably need to replace the velcro of the Invictus with some kind of 3M velcro meant to adhere to fabric, and the weight capacity of the Invictus would be significantly diminished, but for relatively light things, I think there might be a way to make it work.

You definitely wouldn't be able to hand the wood and weights from it like they have demo'd in other threads.

This is what I was thinking you could use to put on the hothead headliners to attach the Invictus Molle panels: https://www.velcro.com/products/for-fabrics/900201__sticky-back-for-fabrics/

Again, not really load bearing in any sense, but for things like sunglasses, a small flashlight, knife, etc.

If you can find a really strong velcro for the hot head side that has a good tape for the Invictus side I dont see why it wouldn't work

I doubt that is very strong. You're more likely to find a velcro tape that sticks to the fabric. The stuff Invictus uses may even work. As them to send you a small strip and see how well it sticks.

Project.Offroad just did this on Instagram. He purchased two sets of our adhesive back Velcro and used the adhesive to adhesive then attached that to our headliners and then attached that to the Hotheads. I cannot vouch for how much load can be used on this method but it does work for lighter weight and gives you two layers of insulation.

My Invictus headliner and extra Velcro came today! Once I get the Jeep back tomorrow from getting the lift on, I will install and report how it works connecting the Invictus to the Hothead.

@Invictus Off Road Thanks for the fast shipping!

Reporting back. I am really happy with this.

First, I doubled up the velcro strips. Sticky side to sticky side, which left velcro on both sides. I then applied the velcro over the entire Invictus headliners. I probably went a bit overkill, but figured more is always better right?

I then velcro'd these to the Hothead headliners. It is clear that the velcro doesn't "stick" quite as strongly to the Hothead fabric, but it works well enough for what I want. If you try to remove the Invictus headliner from the edge, you can peel it off pretty easily, but if you pull straight down in the middle, it has decently strong hold.

This wouldn't work for all use cases, but I think the look is great, and it gives some extra storage.

A few pictures of the truck just for fun. Getting ready to take my Overland takeoff steps to another forum member.

If anyone has any questions let me know.

Each product on their own is fantastic: @Invictus Off Road and @Hothead Headliners. I would strongly recommend either one of them, and they do work together, if you are good with the limitations.
