Hi guys,

I am very interested in the 4.5" stage 4+ Overland suspension lift made by Evo, I'm just not obviously in love with the 6k price tag. I guess I'm trying to see if the cost for this suspension is "necessary" for my needs....I don't plan on doing hardcore rock crawling but I would like to be able to go down the trails in my area with out an issue and overland the gladiator with the occasional obstacle to overcome. I want to be able to cruise down a bumpy road and have the suspension soak up the bumps similar to the way a raptor would...obviously I know this is not a raptor....is Evo right for me? Are there other great options?

I plan on doing a over-landing rack with a tent on top and other goodies so the lift I decide on I would like to be support some extra weight when I decide to go on off-roading trips. I will be daily driving this as well so on road stability is definitely important as well.

I really want a 4.5" lift with a 37"-40" tire.

Thanks for your help!

I have personally run Metalcloak trackbars - both for a short arm and long arm (currently) for my TJ Rubicon. Their proprietary bushings have not demonstrated gradual degradation like what is being described in this thread. So, I'm not echoing some marketing advertisements, but an actual customer with long-term success both From daily and extended Baja testing - two particular categories of testing you don't see on this forum. Therefore, my suggestion is to pull the off-market trackbar with generic AutoZone Polyurethane bushing for a Metalcloak solid steel trackbar with the Durotrak bushing.

Fair comment and a good suggestion. My point is that Evo isn’t some cheap Amazon lift company, so your “go with a reputable company” sounded like a dig against them. Perhaps I just misinterpreted your point.

My question is why 4.5" lift when 2.5 - 3" of lift is plenty for 37's. More lift isn't necessarily a good thing as it raises your COG

It wasn't my intention to slight Mel's company in any way. With that said, my personal experience is with Mopar, Rubicon Express' track bars and also Metal Cloaks. Because my problems ended once I installed the Metal Cloak track bars, the shimmy I experienced from running short and subsequently long arms and 35" tires ceased.

Breakover - on one of the Facebook Jeep ads, a Utah JT owner explained that he is running 38" tires and (EVO?) 6.5" of lift due to the slickrock trails that he runs regularly. His build is a deliberate departure from the norm here at Gladiator Forum where function is placed clearly ahead of form in terms of his JTs amount of lift and tire size.

Yup. I get it. And I understand if someone just "wants to go higher" - but most folks don't need more breakover angle but, as you say, it's a good thing

They sent another bushing and they kindly sent it overnight. However, it is the exact same bushing...
I would buy a Steer Smarts Yeti or a Durotrack trackbar and sell the EVO unit with the free bushing and rid yourself of the problem part. Your Gladiator is too new to be dealing with problem parts.
