With easy access (no top) to the lock switches, anyone would be easily able to climb in and unlock all doors including tailgate to take any items in the bed. I need to carry specific items with me most days (work) but would also like to use my soft top or no top.Do you mind clarifying for me what the security concern is with it being electrically locked?
So you run with no top, but keep your doors attached? With easy access (no top) to the lock switches, anyone would be easily able to climb in and unlock all doors including tailgate to take any items in the bed. I’m pretty sure if you reach in and use the buttons without the fob, the alarm goes off. St least it does with mine. With easy access (no top) to the lock switches, anyone would be easily able to climb in and unlock all doors including tailgate to take any items in the bed. Even better.
That's what I last remember happened too but it still gives a thief enough time to steal something as most people ignore a car alarm or don't even know if the owner might have set it off. I'll test again, with the fob out of the vehicle to see if the buttons are indeed disabled. Thanks guys.I’m pretty sure if you reach in and use the buttons without the fob, the alarm goes off. I wonder if I’m remembering wrong now. I hope I am and it’s that the buttons don’t work. Even if my top is off or open, if the doors are on, I roll up the windows. If the doors aren’t there, no buttons for them to press. So the tailgate stays locked. That's what I last remember happened too but it still gives a thief enough time to steal something as most people ignore a car alarm or don't even know if the owner might have set it off. Well damn... it does disable the buttons. I was looking for a solution to a non-problem. When the red dash security light stops blinking rapidly, it disables the lock buttons on the door. Time to take off the top.Update me?
ExactlyOk I'm confused. If the tailgait automatically locks, how is your hard tonneau compromised. That makes zero sense.
I took people way to long to figure this outWell damn... it does disable the buttons. I was looking for a solution to a non-problem. When the red dash security light stops blinking rapidly, it disables the lock buttons on the door. Time to take off the top.
