Thank you, sounds good. My other Jeep is a 1974 CJ5 so didn’t come with that technology.YOUR first vehicle, but this has been in Jeeps since 2015 for the 2016 model year. Hundreds of thousands of Grand Cherokees, among other vehicles from Stellantis with the 3.6 have this. It's been around. since the 1970s. it's not new - just new to you. It's a technology that's been around longer than most people here have owned Jeeps, especially Jeeps with the ESS/3.6
50 years it's been around. 50 years to get things right with the engine, starters and such. GM, Ford and others have used a system similar to Jeep, others use a single battery, but they've used it for many years.
It's not new by any stretch of the imagination.
Companies have been stopping and starting vehicles at stops for many years. Even those with starters have been around for over a DECADE. it's not a problem - except in the closed minds of some who simply find it annoying, irritating, or choose to hate it.
And if they find it annoying, irritating or have chosen to hate it - that's fine - it's theirs, and their mind, their choice.
But to say "oh, but....but...but....... it will wear things out, it will destroy things" is bullshit, plain and simple.
Hate it - but at least hate it for the reasons that don't rely on spreading crap. Find it annoying -turn it off! Get a tazer or a stop/start eliminator, whatever.
