Feel a bit sad…but had to part ways with the Gladiator this week. Went with a 2024 Chevy LT Trail Boss with the 5.3L V8.

Reasons I decided to ditch:
1. Got a case of the wobble…. After multiple shops failed to find the fix I got it TCO….but it happened to my wife & scared the sh!t out of her. Didn’t help my case keeping it as my “company” car.
2. Have come to see the Gladiator as a tool that didn’t fit my Midwest need.
3. Love it as a weekender, not as my daily for client meetings in a multi state territory.
4. More utility for my needs…. More power, larger cab & tailgate, smoother ride and quieter for work calls. Plus a factory 2” lift that keeps a bit of the fun factor.

Living in Wisconsin it’s not like I have the ability to go wheeling….swimming pools and Gladiators are both probably much better topless in Arizona! That said, I hope to be back soon with a Rubi or Mojave. My bucket list still includes a trip through the mountains and desert trails but it’ll be a few before my schedule has room for it.

Cheers. ?

I hear ya, that new 2025 Ram looks good with the 540HP and 8 speed. But I just got my JTR done and there is something about a lifted Gladiator on 37s, 4.88 gears make it really move. I'll enjoy what I have built for a while.

Sorry to see you go. I kinda know what you are talking about though. But for me, I decided to keep the Gladiator and just add a 24 Tundra TRD Off Road to the stable. I wanted that for a tow vehicle for the travel trailer and I wasn't; going to part with the JTR. So, I gave up the wife's Wrangler Sahara. It was just a pretty "mall crawler" with the custom paint.

For what I spent on the LT, I could have bought a loaded sedan, kept the JT and likely saved money when taking gas into consideration. But, in the end I came to the same conclusion. It was a pretty mall crawler with less functionality here in WI than the Trail Boss. Plus, I couldn’t do what I wanted to since it was my work vehicle, nor would it make sense to. Don’t like half-assing anything….

As you should! I still have a JK with a 4” lift and 36s that we got for one of the kids, but not the same as the JT. When I have time to do it right and enjoy it as you did, I’ll be back in the JT club!

Congratulations on the new pickup. My son in law has same truck but a 23 model make sure you check suspension components for loose bolts his got rattling at about 5k miles and then again at about 13k miles Gm replaced a bunch of brackets and bolts at that time been good every since. Hope to see you back on the forum in the future

There’s no wheeling in Wisconsin?

It’s a shame no one could fix your death wobble. It sounds like a full size is a better fit for your use case anyway. Good luck with the truck. I looked hard at this exact Chevy too. The valve train issues (in the V8) scared me off and the 4 cylinder, while decent around town fell flat on its face on the freeway and that was empty. I can’t imaging the 4 cyl, loaded up trying to move out on the freeway.

Nope. Even the “Jeep Tours” in the UP of Michigan are mostly pretty much paved trips. Thought about Drummond Island but finding the time has been a struggle. If I had a 20-30 minute commute, might have kept it. But 4 - 13 hour round trip dives for client/prospect meetings this made more sense.

lol! Thought about it but I couldn’t justify the added gas expense driving 35k per year. 5.3L was a good balance of fun and function.
