that smart cap is 100x better option for most:like:
you can get paddleboards up on it and go mission specific for way more adventure types than these 'overland' set ups, especially when most missions are family daily duty or work commutes lol, that's a smart cap for sure

Okay, so after taking everyone's advise to heart, I did start a weight loss campaign this week. I removed the rear bumper, winch, and hitch skid plate. I put the stock bumper back on. I lost about 200 pounds with those changes. We are going to the Jeep Adventure Academy in Texas this Saturday. Hope to meet some of you there. Thanks for all the help.

Have fun with it and quit worrying about the little things. Make the most of your time with your wife and jeep. Enjoy the ride and all the adventures you can cram in. That goes for everyone on here. Our time here is short so go out the best way you can. My thoughts are with you. Let us know how the training goes!!

Who is "we"? Have you got "we" signed-up for the local "Cross-Fit" Program...I mean you did say "weight loss campaign" and "advice to heart." But, please wait to consult with me before removing body parts! I mean like real...blood, sweat and tears body parts.

now you have to be careful of being obsessed the opposite way (minimalist) and taking off too much weight ;) you’ll find your own personal balance

a rule backpackers use is to audit their packs after each trip, and not counting mandatory survival/first aid gear....the unused gear doesn’t go back in the pack, it’s a good way to figure out the actual ‘needs’ and essentials vs ‘wants’ and eliminating the unnecessary dead weight

if you’re unlikely to 4x4 alone for example...most will have winches and plenty of recovery gear, you’d be surprised where a stock Jeep will go once you give it a bit more clearance with the lift and tires

if you plan to be solo a lot then you tend to be more careful with where you put your jeep and what gear goes with you[/QUOTE]
