I am sure there is a difference. But is it diameter valving or those and many other things ? What after market shock is close to the Mojave. These will be going on a rubicon probably wit a 2 inch lift running 37s

The Mojave shocks are 2 1/2" internal bypass shocks. What that means is that the internal tube is 2" in diameter, and the piston is 2" in diameter. The internal tube is inside an outer tube that is 2 1/2" diameter. There is oil inside the inner tube that is displaced by the piston as it moves through its travel. In the mid part of the piston travel there are bypass ports between the inner and outer tubes, so oil can just bypass the piston, which greatly decreases damping in that bypass zone. The net effect is a shock that rides super soft and smooth in the mid part of its travel, but firms up nicely at both ends of its travel. The Mojave shocks also have separate high speed and low speed compression circuits, which can be valved independently. This means you can have relatively more low speed compression, which prevents body roll in turns, and brake dive when braking, while not also increasing high speed compression damping, which would stiffen the ride over larger bumps.

You are comparing a $7000 pair of Fox shocks on the Mojave to a $400 pair of Fox shocks with the Mopar 2" lift.

As for which aftermarket shocks compare to the Fox Mojave shocks? I don't know of any. The Fox Mojave shocks are not adjustable. Aftermarket competitors with the valving set up and bypass feature of the Fox Mojave shocks are usually also adjustable (King, etc.)

Does anyone have specifications on Mojave and Mopar lift shocks? I am building a reference table.

I'm also rather curious which shocks could turn a non Mojave into a near-Mojave in terms of caliber of shocks. Yes, I understand that shocks are not the only upgrade on a Mojave.

Thanks for posting those links. I had seen them earlier, but couldn't find them to add them to my favorites file.

I am very happy with my Mojave with a 2.5" lift and 37s. It is the best back country exploration vehicle made right now if you ask me. But, always looking for something better ... When Jeep puts the 392 in a Gladiator, buying a Rubicon, adding a 2.5" lift and a set of these Fox 3.0 adjustable shocks would be pretty hard to resist.
