Jeep gladiator delays

New to the forum (came over from Bronco forum after waiting forever and thinking about cancelling that order and going with a Gladiator).

I have been talking to a local dealer and they sent me this today:

Chrysler has shut the Rubicon, Pacifica, Promaster, Cherokee, Renegade, and Compass plants down. They are using the chips from those vehicles to build Ram Truck, Grand Cherokee, and Wranglers. This means that there will be no production date available for the Gladiator in the near future.

I'm going to have to call bs on this one, not you personally but whoever that dealer is.

1 week closure (although weird) doesn't make sense to halt all the production until further notice. There is a ton of profit margin for them on the others that are being put on the back burner according to that dealer.

Are they implying that rubicons are built at a separate plant? What about the other trim levels? @Zack88 Sounds like they are trying to pulling a quick one on you but I'm not sure the end goal.

Yea, it was sprinkled in with "hey we have a similar gladiator on the way" which is actually now on the lot... so I wasnt sure, but am new to the Jeep world.

So maybe put this in the "my dealer said/dealer shenanigans" box?

This makes more sense, the dealer was trying to get a sale by lying about production.

I ordered on 6-22 and it arrives at my dealer on 8-3.

I got a Willys and live in Pittsburgh. Got my vin pretty quickly then nothing for a month. Then the dealer told me the build date was 7-30 and and by 7-30 I was told it was built and waiting to be shipped. On 8-3 he called and said it was here.

Just as a data point that may be relevant to you, I ordered a Sport S with max tow from Rob at Tuttle Click on 7/19 and Rob sent me the VIN via email on 7/26. I don't know if my order will be delayed.

If you have a vin, you're fine, you'll still get built from what the jeep chat has said

My question is where are you getting your information? I ordered on July 20th and was issued a VIN two days later. I spoke to Jeep Chat yesterday and they told me that the plant is shutdown for this week and that this delay is only impacting vehicles that are currently in the build process. I am still in “D” status and was also told that the “process” to gather parts is still continuing this week. Jeep Chat also told me that the 8-10 week from order to delivery still holds for me and my Mojave order
So, with this information being said and from what others have shared, it’s either Jeep Chat is full of it, or there are certain models/trims/packages that impact delivery times, or special treatment to certain dealers, or all of the above or none of the above. What I am trying to say is that none of us know. LOL

I agree with you. I've ordered my Gladiator Sport S on 6/26 and Jeep chat told me I was still in D status on July 30th and they were shutting down on Monday for the week. I was also given a estimated delivery date of 10/5 the day before from an email. That is 13 weeks for me with 2 shut downs (one in July and one in Aug). But some are being ordered in July and are getting delivery well before me, so I agree with certain models are getting special treatment.

I wonder if it matters what trim package we ordered. Like I ordered the max tow package as well as adaptive cruise control and that lane assist package... I think it's the Jeep safety group.

I tried to order a Gladiator in silver back in May, Jeep will not supply in silver. Anyone know what is up with that?? Still waiting to order. Looks like I might be waiting until 2022.

I wanted one in nacho and they wouldn't order it. They said that Jeep wouldn't accept an order on any gladiators that we're still in abundance in the market with the 2022s coming out. I got to order a black one with a bunch of extra accessories, but I ordered on June 22nd and I'm still waiting and every time I check with Jeep Chat, I think I should have waited for a 2022

I ordered a Sport. I wanted silver also but was told it was not available. This was on July the 14th. I opted for the granite color.

Isn’t Silver and Nacho just plain not orderable generally via the recent order guides?

“Jeep wouldn't accept an order on any gladiators that we're still in abundance in the market.” - this sounds like dealer BS to me, at best a miscommunication about how the order guide process works, and at worst a ploy to try to get you to buy a truck more favorable to the ordering dealer.

How does the order process guide work? It's not too late to cancel my order and do something else with another dealer.
