We now have 3 topper options for the Gladiator: Atlas which pops straight up, Habitat which flips over rearward and the Summit front hinged wedge style. If you're a 3 season camper and need to sleep lots of people, the Habitat works well. If you're a hard core 4 season camper and need to carry gear on your roof like kayaks etc, the Summit is the best solution. If you simply want a smallest footprint 4 season camper with the most room the go with an Atlas.

Some news here before we go fully public about it. In case you missed it, we built prototype Habitat for the Gladiator a few months back just to prove it out. We made some design changes to straighten up the back end in line with the tail gate and the first production Summit unit that uses the same lower component is now being built. I'll have some pictures of this in the coming week. We are producing the Summit for the Maxtrax show truck that will featured at SEMA as well as the 1st production Gladiator Habitat for TSW Alloys for their SEMA show truck. We have 10 lower units available in the first production batch for either a Habitat or Summit configuration. Our lead time is 9-10 weeks. Drop me a line at [email protected] if you want to be included in the first round.

BACK FROM THE Dead!!!

I really wish that this topper would have been done like the flip-pack…. Loved the flip-pack footprint… pull in- no additional area needed- HUGE tent- literally big enough for two adults, and two kids! Without the need of a shoe horn…

The fulcrum point to flip the other way is problematic. Our Habitat customers prefer the rear flip as it provides a covered space over the tail gate area and we also offer a vestibule to enclose the space to provide privacy and protection from the elements.

I think @Dan Grec would have great input on this! Since he has traveled extensively in both an Ursa Minor JK and a JT.

Thanks for tagging me, I hadn't seen this discussion.

..

Back in 2019 I walked around SEMA with John Gish (of Ursa Minor) and we talked at length about a JT-30 pop-up roof. We did a lot of hang waiving and comparing the ideas and thoughts to My Wrangler J-30 that was there on display. It was fun to have Gladiators there to point at and discuss.
He is absolutely designing and building one. It's not coming super soon, but it is coming.

It will replace the entire existing hard top, and go all the way over the rear tub. You will be able to stand up in the drivers seat and "walk back" all the way into the back of the bed. He is designing accomodations to allow the tub and bed to flex separately. I don't fully understand it, but knowing John I trust him 100%.

So the Ursa Minor JT-30 is coming, and it's going to be very, very awesome.

Dan - would you consider traveling in one of those in the future? When is Jeep going to start sponsoring you? They should! Based on your last video it sounds like you already have a plan though.

Absolutely, I can't wait until Ursa start building them and I can climb all over one and check it out. I really liked the Gladiator and it was excellent for Australia.
For where I'm planning on going next, I want to maximize interior living space...
