We had a '26 Rubicon as a rental over the weekend and I twisted the front straps. It made the straps a non-issue.

I took a pic of my door strap sitting with everything closed and I cannot figure out how it's even possible to run against it

Yes, the pic above shows a twisted strap and indeed that is the active fix.

uhh. that is just how mine has always been for 4 years now. I've never had the door off. Probably just the randomness of how they are installed from the factory and/or how people put their doors back on.
