I've never had an insurance company ask or care what color it is. I had a civic painted a new color a few years back.
I thought certain colors are more expensive to insure, red for example, because they're more sought after by thieves. I don't know that they ask that much because the info is on your VIN. Repainting a different color isn't done by your average consumer.

I think that's a myth, because when I get quotes on new cars I'm interested in purchasing, before having a vin, they've never asked the color. They just quote based on trim and options. Then when I get a vin, it doesn't change my quote.
I've heard that too, but it doesn't seem to play out in real life, unless some insurers care and others don't.

Gobi For The Win:

After much internal debate and weighing the pros & cons, Jeep wins as I placed an order for my Gobi Gladiator. Once I decided to jump in the pool I figured why not go in the deep end & get a Rubicon so I did. Common sense rarely applies to myself when it comes to Jeeps anyway.
I’d like to thank everyone for their responses & views: Jeep sent me a personal coupon after the thread passed 4,000 views. Travis at Tri-City Jeep kept it painless, can’t wait for my next trip to Eden, NC. Have my VON & VIN numbers so I’ll head over to the Gobi Gladiator waiting room.

Two things I’d add. Do you want Gobi? If yes, take Dirk’s advice. If no, great you love your firecracker JT. But, don’t wait. Gecko, as an example, only ran maybe 3-4 months. It was a short window. You know what they say about those who hesitate….I hope you get what you want, but I think you’ve already decided anyway. Post up some pics of that Gobi JT when you pick it up.
I knew it ?? but seriously, congrats and can’t wait to see you post a pic of it when you pick it up!
