Absolutely correct if history plays out again. Bought my current Toyota Tundra crew cab back in 2008 amidst $4.00/gal gas prices and paid $23,000 out the door. Nobody wanted a truck or other gas guzzler and the dealers were desperate to make deals. The Prius on the other hand was going for $25,000 plus and rising. The tundra wasn't that bad with 23 hwy and 17 city. They stopped making hummers and other like vehicles around then too.
Was searching and just noted it as a new option on the Costco order site.

I’m not looking to make a profit, just get Gobi at a reasonless loss. Number crunches are at below invoice pricing for the 2022. I took my JT to a dealer that was interested a few months ago & they offered me $42,000. At the time vroom was also offering & 42,000. I suspect the dealer will throw me an offer similar to Vrooms current one.
Have it wrapped

As I was placing my order (not Gobi) on Friday I was listening to another sales person telling someone on the phone who was debating some things that in a matter of 2 months, due to prices of steel, a particular full size truck increased MSRP by $5,000. Personally I think thats a load of crap and just a reason to take advantage of people. Nonetheless....prices continue to skyrocket and few people and places are willing to not be selfish and take advantage of others. My only choice was to pay what I know is a unnecessarily high price for my order. I certainly am not happy about that, but the only real option would be not to get one. Sadly prices keep skyrocketing. Now personally I dislike the pressure and lack of honesty of the buying process of most dealerships. But we can't do a direct buy from Jeep so it kinda limits the options. It sucks feeling taken advantage of, but the JT has a market others can't really touch. A wrap might not be a bad idea anyway - more paint protection for better resale value....

That isn't true. 8.4 and Proximity locks became Standard on Rubicon , Mojave, and a couple other trims in 2022. That's like $2500 and accounts for most of the price increase.
For '21, the 8.4/premium audio package is $1,995 and the proximity locks is $695.

More like it cost Jeep $625 to raise the MSRP $3k. Let's not forget that eliminating options also saves time across the board, and we all know time is money.

Just a reminder to everyone: Jeep is a business and is here for PROFITS. They are neither your friend nor a charity.

They have bean counters whos sole job it is to help squeeze every last bit of profit they can. They predict the amount of people who balk at the rise in price will be sufficiently offset by the amount of people who don't, plus the rise in price, thus netting them more money.

If this was going to hurt them, they wouldn't do it.

Gobi? I don't see Gobi on the Jeep build site? Am I missing something?

Same!! What are we missing?
I found a thread with "model year 2022 order guides"

Gobi is listed there. Apparently the jeep webite sucks.

My wife sent a build sheet in for a Tuscadero Pink Wrangler last week and Daniel from Gupton replied (right away) that the color had been retired weeks ago.

My two cents.

They will sell ever one they make, but not everyone can buy what they make.

FCA always said the Gladiator was intended to be a upmarket product. They are just moving that delineation line up.

Part of the reason for the price increase on the 2022s is the switch from the 5" radio to the 7" as the standard feature. That being said, if you build my 2021 base Sport now its a solid $2k more.

If you do repaint aren't you supposed to update your insurance info to reflect that since it's permanent? I don't think you have to for a wrap.
I've never had an insurance company ask or care what color it is. I had a civic painted a new color a few years back.
