NV smog compliant? Doesn't mess with anything? Notice anymore power or increased fuel economy?
It’s dpf back, so it doesn’t do anything to the emissions system.

The DPF muffles this thing so much that the straight pipe doesn’t make a difference really, but you save like 20lbs on the weight of the muffler.

It’s March and my goal of not washing the outside of the JT has been a success, as has at least 2-3 mini “life is worth living” moments a month.

Somehow, miraculously, the ecodiesel didn’t derate, blow the HPFP, clog the DPF or need the fuel filter changed on the 60 mile round trip ride to and from the lake hauling my buddy’s pontoon.

No drama, no upgrades, no DPF failures, no 18 gallons of DEF in 9 miles, just a tank of diesel, some carne asada and a few hours drive to the Gunlock Reservoir and surrounding UT OHV trails. Not a bad quick trip.

My HPFP is still intact too… that’s 28k miles on the original pump. Hopefully they get me in there sooner rather than later… anyways, here are some photos and videos.

Rumor has it there is amazing trout fishing in these parts, I just didn’t have the patience to fast and reel all day with all of the trails. Nothing too crazy, the gate keeper is kind of the only real obstacle from what we found.

So… this finally drove me crazy enough to do something about it…

Dealership wanted $2,300 for a new tailgate.

PDR folks won’t touch it, it’ll crack they say, the paint that is. One said they’d try for $400, but no guarantees and if it cracks it’s on me…. After being out $400.

Found this company I’d not heard of before, Air Design, who makes all sorts of body panel accessories for all sorts of vehicles. They must have recently came out with this because I searched far and wide for something like this when I did the “doh” moment.

Not cheap, stupid tax was still almost $300 but it is a nicely done product. I wish it was a little thicker and maybe I should have added some insulation foam on the actual spoiler part but all the reviews for these seem to be pretty positive.

Finally got around to installing these rocker guards from Rugged Ridge. I’d been putting it off but it will save the beating I put on the rocker getting in and out. Figured once I install my sliders dropping the rubicon rail will be a major under taking, so did it before that.

Note: you’ll need to drill out the plastic, it’s light work But just kind of inconvenient in order to make them compatible with the rubicon rails.

How far underneath the jeep do these extend? Im assuming its held on with some type or adhesive?

3m at the top and bottom on the pinch weld. You’ll need to drill holes for the rubicon rails if you have them.

I guess kinda JT related… I’d bought a DIY kit from @RedSummit Eng to make rubicon rails into sliders but ended up going the white knuckle route instead. I let my old man have at it with the mig, a cutting wheel and an extra set of rubicon rails I’d picked up. Not bad for a couple guys, some beer and eye ball measurements in a few evenings after work.
