Santa brought me a new Bilstein steering Stabilizer, so yesterday I pulled the old one out and found the square shouldered bolt problem....
So I thought i would ask what folks are doing about it.... like ignore it.... weld in a washer to support an ordinary bolt? Some discussion, and opinions on best fixes would be helpfull....

This is a known issue with mid-year 2021 builds.
This video gives a great explanation of the change and the part# for the non square-headed bolt

I just got a new bolt at a hardware store, but I don't remember the size. I do remember it was a metric grade 10.9 or higher, and I think it was an M14 size. Worked fine, and I recommend getting a self locking nut as well.

Standard M12 size bolt and nut will work. You can seek out the short shank carriage bolt with the square base but it really is not needed.

Also, Bilstein steering stabilizers come with a positive gas charge that likes to extend out the piston and is not a fluid transfer two chamber design like the OEM. That means as you are driving straight, it may ever so slightly push your steering to one side unless you keep resistance on the steering wheel to counter it. Some people find it annoying and others it does not bother.

CJ my local Dealership had it in stock at 3 locations only a few bucks. Check there first if you want the shorter one.

Ok.... all fixed and on the truck.... took a ride to check out 'pull' situation and as described it does have a slight pull to the right if i take my hands off the wheel. Hands on the wheel I don't feel it.... so as we all should, I will try to keep my hands where they belong, and see what the long term brings.

I read that if you do a full extend and retract five times it will get rid of the pull. Have not tried it yet, I traded my first truck before I got around to installing the FOX stabilizer. It's sitting on a shelf, I only have 10k on the second one, so far.

Maybe put the front up on some jack stands and turn it lock to lock about ten times just to see if it helps any.
