Hey guys first time poster. I haven’t been able to find any specific info on this particular issue.

I have water sloshing around in a cavity under the rear window. Presumably due to rain coming in through the seals on the sliding window.

I’ve had the vehicle for 4 years but only recently noticed it this winter (I’m in Australia.)

I’ve had the roof off a total of 2-3 times. I don’t recall there been any drain tubes in that area of the roof that could potentially be blocked.

I am sure there are others that have experienced this. What are your solutions? Cheers legends!

Following as I have a rear window leak I am waiting to get sorted under warranty (as soon as I can remove my canopy) and I had heard sloshing before but never put 2 & 2 together until after I found the leak
Mine is the top seal of the main window itself by the way if you haven't found the cause yet

Come on, are you two sure you didn’t mount your snorkel mods on upside down?

Funny you should say that!
I’ve got a hi/lo amphib snorkel on mine and in the states it would normally pass over the battery to the air box. In Australia it passes over the brake master cylinder. There were a few mods and 4 letter words required to make it work. On top of that the aftermarket crowds here couldn’t be less helpful with after sales service.

That’s a very useful video mate thank you! Will definitely be giving that tubing a try.

The tubing hack works, just did mine back in the spring and after multiple heavy rains I have zero signs of water intrusion

My new JTM had the issue brand new, tightened the center bolts that were loose from the factory (a quarter turn or so) and no issues. We have heavy rain in Florida. Dry. Even car washes are fine.

Somewhere somebody posted using a softer tubing material. Be forwarned some of the silicone tubing is not very pliable. I wish I could find the softer material that was posted/used. If I recall it was a much easier and successful installation

Gonna have to get your roof replaced. Hopefully you're still under warranty.

I had this happen to mine the end of '20. I also heard sloshing from inside the roof. I had them first replace the rear window but they also told me that they tried getting the water out but it wouldn't come out. I insisted they replace the roof as it can get to below freezing here for several days in a row and when water freezes, it expands, thus further cracking the roof making things worse.

Took them a month and a half to do it as they had to wait for the rood to come in but, they did it and I haven't had an issue since.

Good luck with that.

Every JT I’ve been around leaks a small amount of water from ABOVE the rear window, where the seams of the hard top meet. Most people dont notice it, but it can accumulate. If you want to test yours, tape a small piece of paper towel just above the rear glass and check it after it rains. It’s more prominent when the JT is parked slightly facing uphill
