Just got an email from a dealer stating that July will be the last month for 23s and 24s will open up soon after that

They said there just told this yesterday in a meeting

Odd. My dealers are saying September - October. Why would they open up orders for 2024 before they release what the 2024 options are?

Interesting. I was going to order a 2023 in early June and was told by two different local dealers that they could not order Rubicons or Mojaves (I did not ask about any other trim level). Maybe it was a temporary restriction? Instead I found one on a lot a little further away two weeks later. No waiting. If it was a temporary restriction, too bad for them they didn't call me when it lifted.

Sounds like your dealer wants a quicker sale by forcing your hand. That can't be right though, dealerships are usually supremely transparent in their motivations and bastions of honesty.

Force a quicker sale by making me NOT buy the newer, refreshes, more expensive model with less incentives attached to it?

Not saying you’re wrong but there’s more to gain from ordering the newest model here

Lots of speculation. As is usual, dealers don’t always have all the information. I would guess it will be shortly after they release the 2024 model but when will they do that?

Jeep officially introduced the 2024 wrangler in April but they took orders in march.

My very unqualified guess would be orders open in august, Jeep officially releases it in September at NAIAS with production for 2023 winding down after that.

the 2024 may be slightly more expensive plus no rebates, but how is the dealership benefitting from that? The spread from real cost to invoice to MSRP is negligible and customer rebates don't benefit the dealer at all.

Let's use an example:

2023 58k MSRP sold for 55k
2024 59k MSRP sold for 59k

You're thinking "i'm giving them 4k more" but the reality is that dealership is making about $50 more on the 2024.

Is $50 worth losing a sale by giving you more time to consider your other options? Nah, they'd rather give up $50 and lock in your deposit before you have time to go shopping other dealerships.

Dealer is paying interest on new lot inventory. It's in their best interest to get it off the lot asap.

He doesn't pay interest on a custom factory order.

Hmmm, I ordered my Mojave June 26 and its currently sitting at scheduled. Not saying you were lied to but something doesn’t jive.

I went to a dealer today just to check out if I could mount a rear dashcam in the truck without putting it on the hardtop glass. I had to talk to a salesman to get them to unlock it. We were just chatting about jeeps and he mentioned that they can no longer build 2023's, AND they have no info on when the 2024's will be available.
I didn't believe him, it sounded so stupid but he confirmed it with the sales manager. I still didnt believe it, so I called another dealer after and was told the same thing. I don't get it. I expected the 2024s to not be unavailable until like, September. How can they shut down orders for almost two months. I was also told there's a stop sale on diesels and manual transmission jeeps due to the recalls that they can't get parts for.

I already ordered my gladiator, but I ordered it on the 4th of July and it's still in 'scheduled' status so I'm a bit worried. I won't spend the extra money on a 2024.
I highly doubt dealers will be offering the same x% under invoice, and the incentives will be gone, or significantly reduced.

When I was ordering late March, the '24 Wranglers first came to order status. So I was told at least, you could order a '24, but they didn't know the pricing.

Not sure how that worked considering you had to sign an agreement, so maybe they have a low-high range you agree to.

I doubt it will be zero orders for two months, but there might be a blind price period.
