Got my VIN earlier this week as well for a black rubicon diesel, sent an email to Daniel at Gupton to see if I’m still on track for what he thought would be 8 weeks or so from VIN to delivery or if things are pushing back to the 2022 models now.

Same. Let us know the response. I wonder if by then our orders will be 2022 models and if we can change anything on it or get our deposit back.

He told me everything looks good from his end. The VIN was accepted as a 2021 model and I'm in D status so he said he would keep an eye on it, but everything looked normal at this point.

I got my VIN 7/20 but assume it was available earlier my dealer just isn't reach out.

I haven't received an email regarding production delays. Hoping that my build was far enough along to avoid the shortage.

I feel for you that are being effected. I have some tools that I ordered 14 months ago that still haven't arived, due to brass supply and casting issues.

That’s the one. Unfortunately that path utilizes rational thinking which is no longer en vogue or even accepted for that matter.

Some have reported dealers not providing order infoirmation or denying orders. It's likely going to happen but a change from 12 hours ago is goign to take some time to trickle down.

From past experience (I've ordered a 2018 and got a 2019, or ordered a 2012 and got a 2013) when the model year changes the order is just transitioned to the new model year. If your build hasn't been started talk to your dealer about what ever changes you want, you may be able to get them. 1 model year difference doesn't effect much in value with the exception of model refreshes eg JK vs JL.

I was told this morning that the dealer had “Good news!” delivery will take up to 13 weeks, not the 16 quoted in the Wave email, but also not the 6-8 weeks originally quoted when I paid my deposit. I think I’m going to wait until spring and a ‘22. If I don’t just get another new Tundra…..

I haven’t heard back from the dealer since I requested my deposit be refunded.

My salesman just let me know that I can come pick up a check on Monday. Great people to work with in an admittedly tough time for new auto sales. I’ll definitely go see them in the spring.

Congrats, that was a fast build! Also, I'm jealous... I ordered on July 5 and I don't even have a build sheet yet.

Did you happen to get an email like the rest of us stating a much later expected delivery date?
