I had considered that because the fob has to be near the button when starting the engine, and shouldn't work if outside the cab, that it must be made very sensitive. So after thee years of using it a slight drop in voltage may effect the ability to function. So after 4 to 6 weeks of using the fob to push the button I went and bought an Energizer battery and it stated working again.

PS I don't know squat about electricity.
Want to learn? Just stick a knife into an outlet. A lesson that you will never forget.

Along with this - has anyone been able to turn off the *annoying* 3 honks when the fob leaves the vehicle while on? I've looked through the menu and disabled what I thought was it - to no success.
I know if you don't close the door, it won't honk. Don't know if that helps or not. Usually just do that at home when I'm running into the house for forgotten glasses, wallet, etc...

Yup red light is on and fine, the remote that was in the car has the same strength and patter of red light as the one that was at home.
Does it need to be reprogrammed / paired to your vehicle?

I did a long time ago... I do not remember what setting it was. I just wish I could turn off the headlights when you open the front doors...

Just curious could the battery in the key fob be weak? If your Jeep is a 2020 that battery is pushing 3 years. Of course the same is true of the auxiliary battery.
I got that message driving down the road, I pulled over couldn’t find my key. The key was in the tailgate

I recently experienced an issue with my fob not working properly when starting my engine. I had assumed that the fob must be very sensitive since it needs to be near the button when starting the engine and shouldn't work if it's outside the cab.

After three years of using it, I noticed that even a slight voltage drop was affecting its ability to function. So after four to six weeks of using the fob to push the button, I decided to buy an Energizer battery and it started working again.

Found out by accident my 2020 would drive without the fob. Left it running for air conditioning and wanted to lock the door and notice forgot the fob. Saw mention of safety reasons etc for it to work that way. What are they? Seems it would be vastly better to know you could not drive miles away and be stuck some where and not be able to start the Jeep.
