The "nut" is a functional part of the assembly (the red body comes in two halves). The entire assembly is styled to mimic old fashioned Jerry Cans (gas cans) and the "nut" is styled to look like the cap for the spout.

I think you'll like it. Putting it together is a major PITA. But once you get it, it’s a really really nice product. In my opinion, it is way way nicer than another well-known brand here on the Forum. This one looks like a proper professionally made product, and not something that came out of a cheap ass 3-D printer.
