Do you have a manual? I wouldn't trust that rubber grommet method either, but going through the clutch pedal hole was simple enough and easily reversed.
I have an auto, but it didn't make any sense to me to cross from passenger side to driver side inside the truck, then cross back over to the passenger side to get to the battery.

However, that would be a good choice if running wires that originate from the driver side for sure.

t didn't make any sense to me to cross
Ah. I put my speaker on the driver's side, so I had to cross one way or another.
I considered putting it on the passenger side to cut wire length, but I didn't like going through the drain plugs and REALLY didn't like the idea of poking that grommet!

Certainly many ways to do it right 🙂

I installed the Cerwin Vega VR10 low profile sub woofer in my gladiator. Fits perfectly behind the left rear seat with the factory netting removed and ran all my wires to the right side and removed all trim panels ran the wires up under the dash though the firewall grommet removing the RH splash sheild up to the engine compartment. I have also replaced all factory speakers with Cerwin Vega speakers with the rear over head upgraded to 8x10's . With extra speaker wires in the overhead I ran my trigger wires up to the overhead bar to make my connections there .This is not the easiest way to go but I gat it done . Did not want to tap into the wire loom . I got my wiring kit from Skar Audio . The sound is great gave me the extra bass that I wanted. This was installed with the factory amplified equipment .

I've run into a problem with my 51HS10.
Bad connection causing it to cut out.
Started jiggling wires to find it and it's the harness plug at the box.
Both glad and not glad it wasn't a mistake by me. If it were my mistake it would be an easy fix.

Kicker is sending me a new harness to try. Hopefully the side of the plug is the problem and not the box side.
