Anyone use land Anchors? I live in Arizona looking at land anchors. Where I wheel there isn’t a lot of Trees and large boulders may be out of reach of winch line. Just asking for some suggestions and maybe the one that works the best in Rocky/Desert areas?

I have a RW14,000 Pull Pal. Worked good with my Power Wagon. The 14,000 unit is a bit of over kill for the JT. The RW11,000 would be the one to get.

At the risk of sounding retarded I have already pondered this idea before I knew it was a thing. I was curious if anyone has ever brought along some long metal like a grounding rod or even rebar, fashioned a way to connect to it safely, and pound it a few feet into the ground. Blast me im challenged

That stuff ain't heavy enough. It will bend. Need something like some old axle shafts, roof bolts from a coal mine. Something with some diameter to it. you need at least 3 of them to do it right.

Here's the basic idea.

Just wheel with a buddy, never needed one, figured if I was that bad I would start digging and bury my spare tire.

Might not work in Arizona with the harder soil, but I have hammered my hi-lift jack into the ground at an angle to use as a winch point when wheeling in the mud and trees are out of reach.

Something... something... software.
Man, those prices are high for what's basically a folding plow type anchor. If you've got the room, I'd buy just a suitable size marine plow anchor and try that. (LEGAL DISCLAIMER: I'm not a licensed Jeep offroad advice expert, but I am a certified muck driver)

I have the Smittybilt steel earth anchor and the deadman offroad "soft material" earth anchor. I just carry the deadman anchor in my bed. It is so easy to store vs. the heavy Smittybilt... I have never had to use either of them yet.
