Driver's side yeah. As for being the first, I don't know. I didn't read through this entire thread, but the posts I did read were all passenger side. Maybe I'm a trailblazer! Do I get a hat, or something? Lol
I think the "one off" rarity of your situation is deserving of a new name bestowed to you. You shall carry the name "unicorn tears". Hang it proudly.

This is the way.

My right rear is leaking and I am getting a weird vibration between 25-30mph. Is this typical for the broken seal? The part should be her next Wednesday. Thanks!

Vibration isn't typical. I didn't notice anything abnormal when mine was leaking, other than a wet tire. Check your diff fluid levels.

Seals only seal - hold oil back. They can't cause a vibration. A vibration that is caused by damage or a bad bearing can cause the seal to leak. But normally a bad bearing simply makes noise.
Vibration - is it a "quick" or fast vibration like driveline or is it more tire speed, such as unbalanced tire?
If you go faster does the vibration disappear or fade away, or get worse?

Its quick and fast. goes away once I hit 30mph. comes back when I slow below it. starts at about 23-24mph.

it does it in 4H also..
Let’s eliminate one more possibility. Jack up the back end, turn OFF traction control and slowly drive through that vibe speed. Go up through it and back down through it. Do it in auto and in manual drive. Does the vibe hit instantly with a certain gear change? Is the vibe only in that gear?

I tried something like this yesterday. shifted through the gears manually. it happened no matter what gear it was in. I will try it again with traction control off.

No ground force. If you did this yesterday with the back end up and traction control ON, you’d be ABSing and bucking and blowing ABS codes. So, you’re not driving it, back end is up, traction control off and going through that speed and feel if vibs kick in at a certain gear.

One more thing, if it’s 3rd gear when that happens, try holding it at that vibe speed and manual 2nd or 4th and and see what happens.

No problem. Good time to try it when it’s cold ??. Don’t push the no ground force speed much more. It isn’t normal but doing it this way let’s you “feel” the truck without the road bumps and noises. While you’re doing that, listen for any whine noises that may come from below and frontal and go up and down with the RPM’s. If you hear it, listen for it in Park and revving.

My understanding is that it is an assembly issue at Dana. Ford Rangers use a similar differential made by Dana and the right rear axle seal leaks on them as well. Once the axles are replaced (installed by a person instead of a robot), using the same part numbers, they stop leaking and you don’t have leaks again. My leaking axles were replaced and no longer leak.
So what about all the people that had replacement axles already and they are leaking a second or 3rd time after replacement I'm going in for my 2nd replacement in 2 weeks
