LEAKING Issues?

so since JK 2009/2012/2016 - JL 2018 and now 2020 JT - ALL MY JEEPS have the same damn DRIVER SIDE leaking issue! SMFH!!

when i wash my vehicle or when it rains.... IT POURS inside my driver side (inside) like someone is pouring water down the top! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! ANYONE else having this issue?

COULD NOT wait for my JL (which had HUUUUGE issues) but more importantly i was assuming they would of fixed this insane ridiculous issue! NOPE! NOT JK, NOT JL, and now NOT JT! SMH!

Are we talking about hard or soft tops here? My 2016 JKURHR hard top never leaks.

Are you over-torquing the hand-tightened bolts for the freedoms panels? I’ve had 4 JK’s with a random assortment of different tops on them and can’t say I’ve ever seen a leak like that

I have the soft top.. not a single leak...

The gladiator freedom panels doesn’t have bolts to tighten it down with it has a latch on the front above the sun visors and 3 handles that you just slide over to a lip sticking out along the door and the back of the panel where the back part of the top is bolted on

Yeah, this is a thing that carries over from the other Jeep models. I've only had it happen after washing the truck so far, but where I live although the rains can be hard they pass through fast, so I don't have to worry too much about it. When there is decent water in the channel of the hardtop it drops down into the left footwell of the cabin. The channel ends due to the freedom top design and there isn't a catch for the water. They probably could have developed a rubberized channel to act much like what the guy did in the above post - it would be interesting to hear from an FCA engineer as to why they've never fixed it or what they've tried and why they didn't like the solution.

I've washed mine several times (hardtop) and no water inside at all. In fact, I'm impressed with how little water is around the door sills and engine bay compared to previous cars/suvs.

I've had my Overland through the wash four times (two by me, two by the dealer) with no issues.

I had a 1993 YJ that had floor puddles every time it rained. Went bat sh!t crazy trying to fix, but sold it off for a truck when kids came. My son’s 2005 T.J., no prob with stock hardtop and Bestop soft. My 2012 Jk, no prob with dual top. I did have a couple drops come in on passenger side my wife wasn’t happy about in a storm. So I just did a seal kit tonight on the corners of freedom panel, results tbd.

Anyway, if you have a brand-new in-warranty Jeep you need to RIDE HERD on the dealership and make them escalate as needed to fix. These are not cheap toys and they do have the technology to make that not happen. Jeep leaks are not unusual, but should not be accepted as standard.

Mines been washed a few times and haven't had any leaking issues. Mine has the soft top.
