Still going back and forth on lease quotes with a few dealers, and got the following note from one today:

"I will get numbers to you on Monday, since all the programs will change by then."

I assume it's because a new month will have begun, but it's also a good reminder that whatever the numbers are when I order they'll be different when it arrives.

Unless you buy off the lot, yes.

2020 Gladiator Rubicon (waiting for delivery ugh)
I also live in CA and have had no luck finding a good lease deal on the Rubicon Gladiator. Through people on this forum, I've found good discounts below invoice to purchase, but the payment is still to high. Hopefully someone shows a good way to get a 60k Gladiator @ a Lease pymnt under $600 w/ very little down.
@spenchey told me that you can do it. They are doing 3% under invoice now as there is no affiliate pricing. If affiliate comes through he said you can get to 5% (not sure where the other 1% is coming from)? Others are claiming that Kent can still get 5% but I have not seen the numbers from him yet. If you do the math I think you should be able to get your payment under $600 with $0 down. For example, a $58,885 rubicon MSRP comes to a selling price of $53,673 @ 3% under invoice. If you use that MSRP and selling price with a current 36 month / 10k mile residual (71%) and money factor of .002 (you may be able to get better) that should put your monthly at $520 plus tax ($40-50 monthly) plus any DMV fees.

If anyone sees anything off with my math please chime in. Also as Spencer just pointed out to me ... the MF and Residual numbers change monthly so keep that in mind.

Has anyone had any luck actually placing an order with Ken? He has ghosted on me after an initial email reply.

I had the same issue for some reason. I think he's just super busy with orders. I ended up going to Travis and should be getting my truck in the next 10-14 days.

Quick update to this thread.

I live in CA but ordered from Travis in NC. I checked with him last week and he told me that he can do the lease deal for me even though I'm in CA. Remains to be seen if we hit any snags doing that but I'm very excited by the prospects of doing a lease instead of a purchase.

Also posted this video on leasing vs. buying and I intend to post several followup videos as I negotiate my lease and take delivery. Stay tuned.

SWEET!
I'm only 9 mins in, but I dig the video thus far. So far covering everything I was thinking of and more. I'll post this up to post 1 for future Gladiators.

  • How the money factor is like apr on a loan
  • How they roll up all the fees into the lease
  • How sales price is still negotiable
  • How only sales price is locked in because residual and money factor cN change between when you sign paperwork and when car shows up.
That's about it,good start.
