Recently got my 2021 Spot S. My left scroll wheel does control the doors and the cup holders, but nothing in the footwells. Looking down there, it almost appears as if it has the light there. It's just not working.

Is there a way to turn it on? Or is it a 'fake' light and I need to order the thing that has both lightbulbs in it?
Order the one with both lights. Part# 68295365AB

You have to turn the right knob down two. Then the left will work.

will the above work with 2020 Sport S
The Sport trim levels don't have the necessary wiring for the ambient footwell lights.
However...
You can add the necessary wiring, by tapping into the door handle lights. I'm gonna give it a try, I think.

My dealer cant get any current Ambient light knobs to work on the lot. Its not just mine but every Gladiator. Night or day, the left knob next to the headlight switch is inop. It may be a bigger problem than just our lot. Anyone else have this issue? I checked every fuse under the hood with no bueno. I have two footwell lights and only one turns on, I pulled the harness and there is wiring for two circuits. One is not working and I have a feeling its connected to this knob. The door lights around the handles are very dim and can only be seen when looking under the handle. I have a feeling there is harness that didnt get connected or that there is a bad batch of circuits for this switch.
Mind telling me what you ended up doing for this issue? My dome light does not work and neither do the lights behind the rear seats? Brand new Gladiator.

So I read this thoroughly to see if I can add these stupid things to my Sport S, but only had 2 wires on the footwell connector, so no ambient circuit only the regular interior lights... Cheap. According to the OP's pictures, it seems that in some instances there is the third wire for the ambient circuit but no LED because Sport S in unavailable with the ambient footwell feature...

It would be nice to figure out what package gets the harness with the second/ambient circuit.

This reall is a stupid thing to lust for, and something jeep could have thrown into the jeep for pennies. but we gotta make those overlands look good.

ANYWAYS, I do plan on ordering another JT but a diesel this time, V6 Gas power wasn't enough and sold for a nice profit. This time I am going to load up the Gladiator with options, I am hoping I will have the footwell ambient circuit there and also the proximity door harness preinstalled.

For informational purposes my Gladiator had NO Ambient Harness with these options

Maybe we can get some traction on this @JeepCares , I discovered the problem. There are two 12 v wires and a negative ground. The ambient knob controls the circuit on one light and the other is your dome light/footwell light. When these parts were made, they failed to solder in the second led and not catch the cost cutying measure by their vendor or maybe a duality assurance fail. I am having the dealer address this by ordering two new footwell lights. Both part numbers are as listed. Everyone needs to address this or there will not be a tsb for it.

Did this resolve your dome light issue as well?

As a service tech I just ran into this. It happened to be an emoyees wife Jeep. She had a Sport S and we there is no ambient light in the foot well. We used part # 68295365AB in place of the stock 68297171AB lights. She now has ambient lighting in the foot well. I think they list out for $20.
But does this correct the OP's first issue - dome light not working? Is their a relation between the footwell ambient lights and the dome light? TIA

The OP had 3 wires going into the LED, so yes, it should work by simply replacing the LED module with the one with 2 installed LEDs. If yours has 2 wired going into it, then no.

Thank you for the response. Both of my footwell lights have two wires and one of the two LEDs in each of them work. My dome light and behind the rear seat lights do not work at all and the dealer can't figure it out. They tried replacing the switch and the dome light. It's not a fuse issue or a setting that we can find anywhere. The dealership is 60 miles away and I'm burning up more gas than it's worth, so now I'm trying to figure it out on my own. Thinking I may just run two wires off one of the footwell lights all the way up to the dome light, but this won't fix the behind the seat lights.

Just to be clear, if my footwell lights work and only have two wires, replacing them is not going to help the dome light issue - correct?

Sorry I copied the wrong number in - its 68295365AB, just read it off the extra one I bought - I got 68295365AB from a forum posting - ebay'ed it and ordered. I'm keeping the receipt for there dealer. I was told that not having ambient was by design in the Mojave.

Current lowest cost listing on ebay Genuine Mopar Foot Well Lamp 68295365AB | eBay

Not sure if it was to be this way of just something else that was jacked up but form me removing and replacing took about 10 minutes. However, and again it could just be me, the driver side was mounted with a rubber plug into the a hole on the mount. The passenger side was a slide mechanism I needed to push towards the driver slide to release. I order a few of the replacement lights that have the rubber plug. Driver side no problem pulled out the old and pushed in the new. The passenger side I needed to slide the rubber plug off the new light to I would slide the new light onto the slide mount.

My advice is to look at the mounts on both sides before you start to see if you are setup the same. For all I know it could have been installed incorrectly and they are all rubber mount?
